I recently bought an HP laptop with a blue ray player built into it. Now I've watched two blue ray movies on it so far but when I was going to watch my
third one it crapped out on me during the middle of it and now it won't read any blue ray discs. It'll still play normal DVD's and CD's and
it'll try to read the blue ray discs but just won't. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this short of exchanging my laptop for a new one?

It sounds like a hardware issue in which you would have no other option than to exchange the computer or at least get a new drive.
But try this first: 1. Go to the Device Manager. (My Computer > System Properties). 2. Locate the blue ray player from the list (probably under DVD/CD-Rom drives). 3. Right-click the entry for the drive and select Uninstall. 4. After the computer uninstalls the drive, reboot. Your computer will "find" the drive on the reboot and reinstall it automatically. Then try to play a BR disc. If that doesn't work, you'll need to contact HP or the store where you purchased the computer. |
