That doesn't seem like it makes any sense. Can you get that removed from your record?
Can an underage drinking charge come up as battery?

Well I think I WAS 18 at the time of the charge. But why would it come up as battery? I am a little nervous that someone has my name on the wrong file or
something. Battery is a much more serious charge.

Ironically, I think an 18 year old can be charged as an adult, for underage drinking. Ridiculous, isn't it?
I'd look into that battery thing, if
I were you. It's either some sort of clerical error, or possible ID theft- unless you beat up the cop, when you got busted! |

Well I definitely never battered anyone and the dates coincide with this drinking incident. So I don't really know what to think.

Well what happened during the underage drinking incident? Did the cop just see you drinking and knew your were 18 (and therefore underage)? How did the arrest
go down? Why was the cop there in the first place? I mean there's gotta be something more than just underage drinking to be charged with battery (no matter
what the state). Every detail counts.
Battery isn't just intentionally harming someone. In many states it's harmful OR offensive contact of an individual or their person (i.e., anything connected to the person). |

did you have to pay a fine? or have paper work from the incident? that would clear it up as it should say your charge

It was just a house party, cops were called and gave us all tickets, no one was arrested. There was absolutely no fighting or anything of the sort, in fact we
were all kind of laughing about it when it was happening.
I think as a drinking ticket it should have disappeared from my record by now. And it's never come up as a battery before... I'm so confused. I don't think anyone else that got a ticket that night is listed as battery either. |

I did pay a fine. I have no idea if I have anything from that anymore.

That's what I thought. I tried calling them and they said they can't even tell me anything, I have to talk to an attorney. Lame.
