I've recently moved to TX for school and I'm trying to find a server position, but most places I call all say "We're always accepting applications" when I ask if they're hiring. I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with this... What are the chances of getting hired? I don't want to put in an app if it's just going to lead nowhere. Should I put applications in and then just be persistent about them? Ideas? Advice? Thoughts? Thanks.

Posts: 1484 (07/01/2009 8:09 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Block Invite Ignore	We're accepting applications usually means they aren't hiring at the moment but they will hold on to your application in case someone get's fired, quits or leaves the restaurant. Most likely its then that they will call you. I've had it happen to me. I turned in an application to a starbucks near my housedidn't hear anything..but then talked to the manager there and she was nice by sending out my application around our district till another store called me to hire me.

The turnover is super high but we rarely looked through our files either. If theres somewhere you really want to work try checking back with the manager in a week or so... be persistant.
