I know what size I am. It just really depends on the brand. I'm a 7, 8, or 9. This is a size 9 that I bought and usually, there's too much room around
my thighs, but just fine at my waist when they're at that size. Vice versa for smaller sizes. These work well though.

I'm the same way with pants, it doesnt matter if I'm a size 9 in one pair, in another an 8 could be huge. Plus being tall I have to make sure the
length is just perfect and the rise has to be a certain height or I can't deal with the fit. I'd be amazed too if I bought a pair of jeans without
trying them on and they fit perfectly everywhere
