Janet is an icon in her own right. But i never have been impressed by her dancing or stage performances.
Out of all the "performer" type singers who dance, Jennifer is the only one who can really dance. But she was a working dancer before she blew up so she does have that advantage.Janet's performances KILL every performance JLo has ever done.
Janet has better production value, but i was talking about raw dancing talent. Janets simply not on the same page as Jennifer who is way more versatile as a dancer and better all round. Janets dancing all looks the same to me.
Do you consider Janet Jackson to be a huge icon?

She's an icon for sure. Britneys an icon today, but in a different way. Janet was more groundbreaking and paved the way for the pop stars we have today.

I'm trying to think if there was anyone like Janet before Janet...I don't think so. I do think there have been a lot of women after her trying their
hand at her style though.

Janet is famous, but she's not an icon. I'll give her props however because she was able to get out of her brother's shadow and be a formidable
force on her own.
Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, MJ, Madonna, Bowie, et al are icons. They are all in a league separate from regular stars like Janet. |

Janet, best dancer and performer out of all the female singers at the moment. No one can touch her. |

Janet Jackson is def a Icon. Not as big as Michael, but she's a Icon. She was influenced by her brother big time. I can
remember my friend and I learning the routine to RN in my living room. Man we had it down packed.

I think she is an Icon. I mean, MTV only aired three episodes of the show "Icons" if I remember and they were: MJ, Madonna and Janet

If you ask Michael, he says they borrowed from each other and he was really inspired by him, and we all know she was inspired by him when asked, she always
said so.

Janet's
performances KILL every performance JLo has ever done.
