I've heard many yes-es and a few no's.
Do you consider Janet Jackson to be a huge icon?

Huge as Michael? No. Huge in her own right? Absolutely.

No, she doesn't have any huge stand-out memorable hits that I can think of, unless she wasn't quite as big on this side of the Atlantic.

You can't really compare anyone to Michael in popularity. But she def. held her own. And that was back when you actually had competition. She had Madonna
in the 80's and she still held her own, and then in the 90's she's doing just as well as the other 90's woman, like Whitney and Mariah. She
even be doing better of now.

Absolutely. Plenty of female artists have clearly been influenced by her.

Nah, I don't consider her an icon. And definitely not a huge icon.

Absolutely! Yeah, she got in the door with her last name, but she did her own thing for a loooong time.

Absolutely. No other female compares to her when it comes to dancing/performing. Janet & Michael are my top two favorite people to watch on stage.
Personally, I find her more talented than Britney & Madonna combined.
