We have been planning to go to Europe since April. Next Thursday is when we leave. She JUST called me to tell me that she has to cancel and won't be able
to go. I am so livid now and I have no clue what on Earth I should do! Should I go by myself or cancel my ticket? I spent money on not just the plane ticket,
but a new passport, luggage, etc. UGH, I am so livid now that I can't even think straight!

Did she already bought her ticket as well? Maybe you can find another friend to take her place? I'm sorry she did that too you! I would be pissed also!

No, thankfully I didn't pay any of her half on my card. I so want to go and I know that there will be so many solo travelers who I can meet and hang out
with. But, Europe..alone? I really don't know.

The reason she said that she can't go is because of work. She is a paralegal and said that she found out today that the laywers are going to need her until
the 24th. Wow, thanks for telling me that now! I would of been fine if she had even the slightest clue that this scenerio that this would happen and told me.

Is it possible to postpone your flight? Did you already have all the hotel reservations all set up?

Well that's life when you're working and in times like these when people need the money and can't do things to compromise their employment, I
wouldn't hold it against them.
Since you have everything in order just go by yourself, because in all honesty you'll probably end up enjoy yourself 100 times more. Don't miss out on Europe because someone else's plans have changed. You still have your holiday time so just go for it. |

Well I only have one hotel booked and that was for my first night in Madrid. And the fact that she told me a week before that she can't go because of work
sounds to me like she never put her time in to begin with.

So? Who cares she's the one missing out not you. you can still go and if you choose not to go then it's your own fault not hers. Whether she did it no
purpose or not, doesn't matter. I don't understand the hang up here?

Well I dunno, maybe work is just really bust and she thought she'd be able to take the vacation but now there isn't time. I doubt she'd pay for a
plane ticket if she wasn't even serious about going with you. You should check into postponing your flights and see how much it costs.

kerlifries wrote: No I don't? She has her own ticket, and I'm assuming she's 18 or older and without any major crippling disability. Hence no reason be angry about anything. She doesn't need her friend to go with her. Plenty of people travel alone and have just as much fun, if not more. |

I realize that people travel alone all the time. If I would of known a 2 months or even a month before hand, I wouldn't be angry and would be able to get
into the right mindset.

kerlifries wrote: Yeah I'd be okay whatever because who cares, being angry and throwing a shitfest isn't going to change the fact that she's isn't going to go and quite frankly so why waste my time. I'd say that's too bad, I'll send you a post card from where ever BYE! and be on my merry way to enjoy MY vacation while she's stuck at work. |
