Even back then it was getting his imaged tarnished. As for the guys. Guys that live off rich guys money are not going to stop him in anyway. That's like the random guy in the crowd trying to stop a mafia boss from offing a guy he wants out of the way. As I stated I'm a big fan of Jay but he certainly could spin this story to it being a joke. If it is a joke, i sure tried to knock the hell out of my older brothers when they tried play wrestling with me when we were kids .

I don't know about hitting, but Jay Z sure did STAB a person. I love me some Jigga, but one should not be all high and mighty and throw stones...

I love him too and he's changed a in a lot of ways to becoming a successful businessman too. yet I still cannot agree with him on the decision of not having Chris there when he has his own skeletons of violence. Had it been the Jackson Family themselves or BET I may would understand, but not from a person who pretty much caused physical harm to another person. That's like Mike Tyson saying Kobe Bryant didn't deserve the MVP award because of his rape allegations...

I tought Covergil where the ones that put pressure so that Chris Brown would not perform, since they sponsored the awards and Rhianna is their representative.

^ Now that would make complete sense. Their money. Their decision.

^ It doesn't matter if she was there or not, it would be very bad taste for Covergirl to pay and support an event where the the violent ex was performing.
I'm not saying that Jay Z didn't try and stop Chris Brown from performing, I'm just saying I think covergirl also put a lot of pressure on the BET organisers as well. I mean millions are at stack. |

"The reaction over at The Source has been mixed, with some commenters applauding Jay-Z for making a stand:
I for one have to hand it to Jay for sending a powerful message that no matter HOW talented you are, you don't get a free pass for acting like an animal. Don't you think Rihanna would have enjoyed going to the Grammys … but oh wait she was in the hospital with a busted face. " AMEN to that. Its not like he will NEVER get to pay tribute. But less than a week after he admitted to ASSAULT is a bit too soon. He hasn't begun his probation or therapy. He has done NOTHING to redeem himself yet. When he was choking the life out of a anoother human being he should have thought "hmmm this might effect my getting to be on an award show" And as for Kobe - that is exactly what people mean when they say it sets a bad example. Five years from now people would look at some other young star who commits a crime and say "well look at Chris Brown? It didn't damage his career at all!" |

Yeah she doesn't have to be there for them to pull the plug on his appearance. She is on their payroll. He is has been convicted of abusing her. They are
sponsoring the award show. Makes sense to me.

Well Jamie Foxx says...
Jamie did not really want to speak on the Chris "controversy" since it was supposed to be all about honoring Michael, but he finally said that the writers of the show (Jamie, Marcus King, and Stephen Hill) decided not to include Chris in the tribute because they wanted to "protect" him. The show was supposed to be all about honoring Michael, and they didn't want the issues with Chris to affect that. As far as Jay-Z having Chris cut from the show, Jamie's exact words were "Jay-Z and Beyonce don't run the show." |

Get use to it Chris.
There is nothing preventing him from doing his own tribute via youtube. Just like he did when he wanted to get the message out that he is not a monster. |
