Call me a puss but I refuse to drive over the ones that are extremely high and will detour if I'm able to. Does anyone else have a fear of driving over high intersections on the interstate? Texas has some of the highest I've ever seen, especially in the DFW area. "The interchange comprises 37 bridges distributed across 5 levels (thus the name "High Five"), with the highest ramps 120 feet (37 m) above ground.[3] The High Five consists of nearly 60 lane-miles of new roadway and stretches 2.4 miles (3.9 km) north/south and 3.4 miles (5.5 km) east/west.[1]" Here's some pics even though the height of the bridges don't do justice. They're like rollercoaster tracks haha

Really? See I don't mind roller coasters but having to maneuver my car myself that high scares me. I sure wouldn't want to get on a wreck on one that high!

However, the one connection I-20 to I-35 in Ft Worth DOES bother me. That one has always terrified me and I refuse to drive on it. I have nightmares about driving on (and sometimes OFF of) really high bridges.

Have you been at the intersection where I-35 and I-121 meet? The ramp goes really steep in the air on that one :ahh

Have you been at the intersection where I-35 and I-121 meet? The ramp goes really steep in the air on that one :ahh Yes, I've been there. I remember before it completed. I could drive on one ramp, but another nearby one wasn't completed. I couldn't see the end of the one I was driving on so I was always worried that it wasn't completed either and that they forgot to put up a barricade and I was going to wind up driving off the edge.

It happened to me a couple times in my city when I was crossing over onto another freeway and the traffic was backed up. I was literally hyperventilating in my car praying the weight of all the cars wouldn't make the bridge collapse.

Bridges scare me. Bridges over water are worse (I also have nightmares about driving off bridges into open water). That much open water would stop me permanently. I not only wouldn't be able to drive it myself, I wouldn't even be able to let someone else drive.
