Yes. My boss was gracious enough to do that. He must be feeling nice this year since it falls on a weekend because we normally wouldn't get off.

I don't work a 9-5 shift, but I have Friday off. I also have the benefit of an earlier shift on Thursday. I usually work 3-11:30 but on Thursday, as with
the day before all holidays we get, I work 10-6:30. As a federal employee the 4th of July is one of our official holidays. We get a day even if it falls on a
weekend. The same is true for Christmas and New Year's Day.

Yep! I went to take the day off because I'll be out of town that day, and then found out we have it off anyway. And that totally works out, because I hate
having to take days off.

Yes. 7/4 is a scheduled holiday and since it falls on Sat, we get Friday off. If it fell on Sun, we'd get Monday off.

Thanks, guys!
I guess I'll tell my parents we should be closed on Friday. If all of our customers have the day off then it doesn't make much sense for us to be open. |

My family owns a restaurant, but it's right in the middle of office buildings. There are no houses nearby so we're not open on nights or weekends. Or
major holidays.
