I never thought much about Chris' music and I felt this way before he even dated Rihanna. I don't care that he is in the show but I do think having him
on the awards will jump start his career again.

If this is true, I don't like any of the people that will be doing this tribute. Well, except Beyonce, and even then, I'm "eh" on her
participating in a tribute that includes The Dream and his corny ass, Chriss Brown, Justin, and Ne-Yo. A moment of silence and some clips from MJ's career
would have sufficed because I REALLY don't think BET is capable of doing this with the artists they have and doing Michael half the justice his career
deserves.

I doubt the Jacksons are cool with Justin after he sold out Janet. When he was doing press for FSLS, he said that the way Janet was treated was sexist. Then
after the promo was over and his album sold, he suggested Janet brought it on herself.
The last thing Janet Jackson is thinking about at a time like this is Justin Timberlake. So the Janet-Justin performance is a no-go.

The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. I thought the way people acted like she conned him into it/was any more wrong than Justin for doing it was sexist BS - but I think she didn't make the overtones she needed to make in order to win people back onside. Not that I think she should have stooped and crawled, but she went too far the other way and wound up appearing less apologetic than she was/should have been. I don't think anybody handled that situation in the wisest manner. But anyway, that's the past and doesn't need to be rehashed yet again, especially at this time when it's about Michael. What I'm most glad about is hearing that the old school Motown crowd will be participating. MJ was so big in the 80s and influenced the younger generation so much I think people sometimes forget just how long his musical legacy is |
