why can you feel strongly to critisize & judge a person you've never met over rumors, but others can't feel for him and cry over his death for his artistry? what's the difference hate and love?

I hate to bump this, but I have 2 very, very big problems with this thread. The first being the quote above, because...

1) On Wednesday, June 24th, one day before he died, most people would have still had the recent antics in mind, and generally agree that the man had a few screws lose. When someone dies, they become a saint. Now everyone's coming to his defense, whereas two days ago it was generally agreed upon that he was a pop-culture outcast. Its like a total 180. Respect people when they're alive or I won't respect your opinion after they die.

2) Everyone handles grief differently. There's a lot of hypocrisy in this thread ("oh, its sad JustinRandy that you were never touched by an artist enough to cry if/when he/she died, bla bla bla"). Not everyone cries. You may acknowledge that its tragic, but you may not actually be grieving. There's no right or wrong answer to how you're personally effected (or not, which is fine) by someone's death.

First of all Michael Jackson was never an outcast to pop culture, EVER. He may have been an outcast due to his appearance to society as a whole, but I think that would happen to anyone who did what he did to his appearance. Lets not mistake however that what he looked like NEVER affected my, and I am sure many others' respect and admiration for his music and how he viewed the world.

Secondly, who here is the one questioning someone's emotions and grief other than the OP? I fail to see how anyone could be hypocritical in saying they feel bad the OP for not being impacted the way most of us here were by MJ, when you have no idea how any of us felt before he died.
I also do not feel that the allegations against him at one time or his appearance impacted my view of him in regards to his music and how it affected my life. One thing does not go hand in hand with the other, and for many people as well. I never thought he was guilty and always adored him.
