I can't forget when we also watched "Michael Jackson: Moonwalker". I was completely floored at the shit he could do.

Thriller used to scare the hell out of me as well as seeing the videos of his fainting fans
My mom loved him since the Jackson 5. She said he was her first major crush and one time she and her friend snuck into their concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. |

That's so cool that your mom did that!
I never understood the fainting fans when I was little. I kind of still don't get it. |

I used to watch loads of his concert footage when I was a kid & I remember seeing so many people faint, cry & drag themselves onto the stage, only to
be whisked off by his security.

My favorite second-hand Michael Jackson moment happened before I was born. My mother used to tell me this story about her and her dorm mates watching Motown 25
when Michael did Billie Jean. One of the girls was a humongous Michael fan, and every time he did his foot-tapping move, this girl would scream, "The
foot! The foot!" I still laugh whenever I think of that.
I grew up watching Michael Jackson's videos, but my ma didn't play any of his records or anything (there was pretty much no music in our house on a consistent basis). All I knew of Michael was his videos, and I couldn't get enough of any of them (especially Smooth Criminal! The lean. |

My best friend and I used to have to go and pick her brother up at his School once we got out of school. Every day we would go and wait for him in the parking
lot. While waiting we would blast "You Rock My World" really loudly. This is when it first had come out.
When they said when his funeral is we're going to go to the school parking lot and blast the song. |

I remember being 5 or 6 and asking for Thriller. My whole family drove me to the record store. It was raining and i dropped my sweater in the parking lot.
He put out that Moonwalker video and I would watch it 247. |

i'm mad i can't even play MJ songs in tribute as something special...i already do that everyday.
i remember when MJ videos were major network television events. I got to stay up past my bedtime to watch the world premiere of 'Black or White.' (i also remember watching Thriller while hiding behind the sofa. i remember when it was cool to lose a glove because you could rock one and be like MJ. Elmer's glue x a bottle of glitter...fill in the rest. i remember spending days at Erica's grandma's house after school and the only movie we'd ever want to watch being Monwalker. i remember practicing my Moonwalk in socks down the hall because it was too hard to do with shoes. 17 years later and i still haven't perfected it. i remember Bad being the only tape that got any play in my walkman (partly because i had stepped on and broken To The Extreme, and Please Hammer Don't Hurt Them was lost forever. i remember when I was in 2nd grade I had to write a poem and used the 'Man in the Mirror' lyrics for my entire paper. I was thinking I was slick and no one would know. I didn't know dude's buzz was so big at the time. i remember going to Disneyland and the first thing i always had to do was sit and watch Captain EO (surprisngly, Star Tours was always second). I'm still salty they turned aruond and replaced it witht that wack ass 'Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.' i remember everytime going to Redondo Beach Pier, the only thing i ever wanted to do was play Moonwalker. Still the only place i know that has a machine. I still get it in on my computer though. ROMs FTW. i remember swapping between The Box, BET and MTV for hours, just to catch the Scream video. Still my favorite ever. i remember watching Free Willy and rewinding/fast fowarding to the parts that played "Will You be There." i remember the car ride home last summer from Six Flags being uncomfortable as hell but content because we had HIStory playing the entire time. i remember sitting up in bed with Angel watching MJ videos for hours when we were suppossed to be doing work. i remember just yesterday arguing with co-workers about him while playing Thriller. funny what differece a day makes.
Eternally cool. |

Moonwalker was my favorite, my friend actually ordered it a month ago from Japan and we had a big watch party for it. Like Sha, I remember watching his
concerts and seeing people fainting and carried away in ambulances, and at the time, I thought people were dying and I removed my framed autographed 8x10 of
him from my wall!! Those memories will live on forever, and so will his music. I love how at any club, you can play the most current music, and you can throw
on an old school Michael jam and the club goes insane!!

Say, Say, Say by Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson was the #1 song on the day I was born. For me Michael Jackson has always been there...it hasn't
really been a conscious thing. It will be so strange to imagine life without him or any new music/tours from him. You kind of picture people like him, Madonna,
and Prince as always being around.
It's crazy to me that his music is still so relevant. Hardly any songs can say that. I mean, Billie Jean was recorded in 1982 and reached the #1 spot in 1983...and that song is STILL hot. I don't know anybody who doesn't like that song along with so many other MJ classics. |

The concert where Michael did the famous moonwalk for the very first time. That was cool.
The Thriller clip, Smooth Criminal and even Bad. |

My parents always told me that the first song I ever danced to was Thriller. I was less than a year old, crawling in front of the TV, when I just stopped and
stared amazed at the video, then started rocking back and forth in an MJ daze.
I have a million MJ memories, though! |

I was obsessed with him when I was a kid. I watched Moonwalker like 100 times and I used to watch that concert in Bucharest( I think?) all the time. My sister
used to try and change the channel before I saw it was on. And I used to try and do the dance from Remember the Time, the part where they like roll back almost
to the floor. Good times!

The performance at the Mowtown celebration. He performed Billie Jean. I was really young and I made my dad record it on our VCR and I watched it over and over
again.

I am pretty sure the first thing I ever recorded on our VCR was the Thriller video. My brother and I used to watch it 3-4 times every day after school. He
would always sing along to the Vincent Price part, and he had the dances down perfectly.

Michael was just in my house from when I was born. My parents weren't huge fans (well my dad loathed him) but my older sister and brother and my aunt who
used to look like Thriller Michael were all completely obsessed so he was one of the 1st musicians I grew up with.
I don't remember many specific things though. I remember seeing Moonwalker for the 1st time and just watching it over and over again, being so amazed by it and trying to learn the dance moves (and failing miserably). I remember being heartbroken when we couldn't get tickets to the Dangerous tour. I also remember getting the Dangerous short films VHS one birthday and watching and rewatching that 100s of times. One funny memory was of this competition at the school my aunt was Head at. Where you had to perform dressed as Michael and do his dances. My brother took part wearing the whole Bad get up, jacket and all but got so nervous he just froze so I remember getting on stage and dancing with him. I think the other boy still won though. lol |
