I think for coverage like this it has to be a person who has been around for years, everyone knows and defines a generation. Michael's death to me is like the death of Elvis Presley to my mother. There would be coverage for Britney and whatnot, but not like this. This kind of coverage is rare. Michael Jackson is the biggest music artist in the world. Argue all you want, but he was and is the biggest thing out there. This is different.

One of the people just interviewed on CNN made mention that anyone in their 30s sees Michael Jackson as a part of their childhood. I definitely do. From the posters on my bedroom wall to the knowledge that he forever changed music.

and i think that's where us younger generation aren't "getting it" necessarily. I agree he changed music forever etc. But I didn't grow up with him and I'm not necessarily taking it has hard as others do. I'm sad he passed away, and in shock but it's not hitting me like it would if someone like JT passed away. Someone I grew up listening to and know better than him.
