how do you handle new guys and being on your period and letting them know that is why things can't go too far that evening? or, do you make up another
reason?

"i'm on my period" if he's mature enough to have sex he should be mature enough to hear the word period.

Just tell them that you're on your period. Why would you have to make up another reason?

I stick with a simple, "Not tonight".

I have said "This is not the best week for me to do stuff like that, if you catch my drift". Most guys will get what you mean

I'm only seeing one person and I've only ever been with one person but I am in no way afraid to tell him it's the wrong time of the month or
there's this thing called a period in the way.
You're both grown people. You shouldn't be embarrassed to say period or wrong time of month and he shouldn't be afraid to hear it or be grossed out about it because he's sure going to have to deal with it if you ever move in together or get married. |
