As an aspiring author, I find this interesting. I know it's somewhat different, but libraries have been letting people share books for free for a loooooong time, yet people still manage to make money writing. Not every author is JK Rowling or Stephen King and many (if not most) still work day jobs to support themselves, but they don't stop writing because they can't make millions, nor do publishers stop printing books because people are sharing them. I write because I have to - it's my passion, and if someday I can make money off of it, great, but that's not WHY do it. If, in the bigger picture, musicians aren't creating music for the same reason, then yes...they'll stop making albums. But the number of independant artists makes me think that it's about more than money for most of them.

You bring up an interesting point about the literature media sharing due to libraries.
