Just wondering if anyone has done it and can give me any advice. I have had a few different jobs in the last year and a half but I don't have my total
income from all of them. How do I go about getting this? Do I just have to call HR and ask them to send some sort of form? Thanks!

The Department of Unemployment figures out your income and what kinds of benefits you'll get. You just apply and they do the rest.

You should be able to fill it out online. Just google unemployment for your state and the website should come up. Depending on what state your in though you
may not be eligible (I know in FL you have to be at a job for a certain amount of time/hours before you qualify).

In Ontario, you need to have worked a certain amount of hours in the past year, usually its 600, then you need to have left your job for a certain reason.
Like acceptable reasons would be a lay off, or moving. But if you quit you usually won't get unemployment if you don't have a good reason. You need to ROE (Record of Employment), that will show how many hours you worked and what you made. Here it takes sometimes 3 months just to receive it, especially with so many people filing. |

If this kind of the thing happens to you, all you need to do is fill out the form (they send you a form to make sure everything is correct) they send you in the mail and make copies of your pay stubs. You can file online, but you will probably have to finish it on the phone. I am not sure how Oregon does their unemployment. This will probably give you more answers, you can also call or visit Dept. of Labor. http://www.oregon.gov/EMPLOY/UI/index.shtml |

In NJ, it doesn't matter how many employers you had, just as long as you earned at least $7200 for the last quarter.

Froggy86 wrote:When I filed it only took me a month, and the first 2 weeks were because of the automatic 2 week penalty. Mine runs out mid-September but I've only used a portion of it as I get contract jobs and they still deduct the weeks from what I was allowed. I've been claiming it now for almost 3 months, but start a new contract next Monday that will carry me through until the end of September. I'll have to refile if the contract runs out though and I don't get renewed. The government only renews 3 months at a time. |
