Aww! My dad had a heart attack 5 years ago (damn...can't believe it's been that long!), and I'm still scared all the time that he's working too hard or pushing his body too much. The good news is that since he had the heart attack, his heart has recovered and all the meds have lowered his blood pressure and cholesterol, which means he's probably healthier and safer now than he was before! And he goes to the doctor all the freakin time to keep an eye on it. Try to think about it that way-your dad's probably being monitored SO closely right now.

That's great that his bp and cholesterol are down too! I'm sure he'll also be more proactive about seeking treatment if he has any warning signs in the future. My dad always avoided going to the doctor before his heart attack, but now he knows he has no choice. And especially right after, he would always call the doctor when anything felt off. He had to have a few angioplasties after the attack, but he hasn't needed one in a couple years. It made me feel a little better knowing that he was the one who knew when something needed to be done. Hopefully your dad will feel the same indications (if he has them, which God willing he never will!) and get checked out if he needs to be.
