I always thought if I was ever going to get married, I wanted a 2 ct. diamond as my center stone. With that said, I'm not sure I've ever actually seen
one in person...haha. Ridiculous, I know... And my girlfriend's engagement ring is a 3/4 ct. solitaire and it looks pretty big. Anyone have that size
diamond and have a photo of it on their hand? The whole thought of actually going into a store to try them on overwhelms me.

My friend had one that was a bit of 1ct and I thought it was too big. But I'm one that doesn't like big stones. I'd rather have a bunch of tiny
ones in a pretty setting.

I tried on a 2.5 carat at Tiffany's once. It was a good size. I have really long fingers, so I need a good size ring. I am praying for a 2.5 middle stone
Cushion Cut with side half moons when i ever find my dream man :-(. Breaking up with my boyfriend of 2 years tonight (he MUST go).

I have little hands and I have a little bit bigger than a one carat stone in mine. I don't think I would want anything over like a 1.5 carat diamond.

It will definitely get people's attention. Is it ostentatious on your finger? Not really.

I have a 2 carat emerald cut. It's beautiful, but a little too flashy for me nowadays.

I think a 2 carat ring looks overdone on a very young woman. Yes, a 2 carat stone is quite large....something you should build up to (if you should be so lucky). Just guessing here--conservatively, and buying from a diamond merchant, a nice 2 carat stone would cost $20-30,000 I'd say. |

Kendra's ring is apparently 2.25 karats so find a pic of her wearing it to see what the size is like.

Oh and OP, when you try on rings you won't be trying it on with the diamond already set, you will try on the setting and they place the loose diamond in the setting. It will look different when it's actually set. |

^^^It really hard to tell scale when people post pics of rings not on a finger.

LuvBug wrote:^ It's still a shitty ring. The clarity is an I2 which means you'll probably see black dots or other flaws in the diamond. 2 carats is a pretty decent size. I have a 1 carat and I think sometimes it looks big on my finger. I would love a 1 1/2 carat though.

I saw that Kendra's ring was 2.5ct and I was trying to find a clear picture of it! I have small, skinny hands/fingers.
I never thought I would get married. Boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and it's definitely not in my near future plan. I always told him if it were up to the girl to do the proposing, we'd never get married. However, if he proposes to me (which he has been talking about a LOT lately), I most certainly wouldn't say 'No.' That said, with the talk about it and the idea of rings being thrown around, I started thinking more about what I would like. A family friend is a jeweler and would be doing it. She has made a TON of really nice jewelery for me already. I wonder if it's like fake boobs...everyone always tells me to go bigger than you think so you don't regret it. |
