I've been walking at night but I want to jog as well. (I don't see myself completely jogging at any time soon, though.) I was adding in a lot of
jogging a few nights ago but I think my "walking" shoes really messed up my shins. I don't know if I should buy running, training, or tennis
shoes. Any opinions?

I'd say running or cross training. I work out in running shoes, which I know I should probably have cross trainers but oh well, and I think they work fine.

Anything w/ good support if you are going to be on your feet. I love my EzSpirit sneakers, but New Balance also has good support in them.

Do these look good? I think New Balance is a good shoe.

I buy New Balance All Terrain shoes. Because I have fat feet, NB has widths.

I think those look good...I think about any cross trainer from one of the major brands (NB, Nike, Adidas, etc.) would work pretty well. I can't really
speak on NB's, the only pair I have are casual shoes. I'm a Nike girl.

I'm a Brooks girl. I wear them for running and also for work.

Yeah I wear Nike's all day at work and I love them. I should've just picked up another pair but they weren't on sale.
The ones I bought are Avia's and something weird is going on inside of them. The arch has a hump on it that seems to kill my legs. I figured it was just because I was breaking them in but it's been a few weeks now and I hate them. I'd like to just wear my broken in Nike's but I've heard it's bad to wear your usual shoes to exercise in. |

Well, the Air Max 360 I-III are considered the most comfortable pair of running shoes, but they are expensive ($175).
Air Max 90s are good too and they're nice, plus they're not too expensive ($80). |

If you are going to jog, buy a running shoe.
The best running shoe is the shoe that best fits your foot and gait. Go over to a site like Cool Running or Runner's World to learn about the different things that go into a perfect fit like arches and pronation. Then go to a running store (preferably ) and try on several brands. What brand/style that works for one person, isn't going to necessarily work for you. |

When I bought these cheap shoes I wasn't totally committed to the whole working out thing but now that I am I want to get something better.
I still want to get something on sale, though! There's another sporting goods store that has some Adidas running, Asics running, New Balance Training, and Nike Walking shoes all for $40 each. (The Asics are the best deal, regularly $75, so I should go with those.) Oh and a New Balance running for $35. |

Those all sound expensive! I'll have to wait until another Foot Locker Friends & Family coupon comes out.
Oh but wait, they are probably excluded! BOO. |
