It was really awful. Very poorly planned city. There's no real casino "strip" so getting from one decent casino to the next wasn't very easy.
And to top it all off, you had to pay to park at the casinos. I thought Atlantic City SUCKED.
But as a disclaimer, I've been to Vegas a bunch of times so by comparison Atlantic City was just gross. |

Hmm.. I guess a mini Las Vegas on the beach? Well, no, not really. It's got casinos, clubs, shopping, and it's right on the shore. Last time I went, we
saw Dark Knight in IMAX.

Nope everyone I know always wanted to go to Mohegan Sun instead and I don't want to give money to Native Americans.

You have to pay to park at the casinos? Screw that.
The hotel rooms aren't that cheap either... |

My mom goes every other weekend to a club called Cuba Libre. She has good fun. My aunts like to go to Tropicana for a weekend and disappear from life.

I go to Atlantic City every other weekend to play blackjack. I also see concerts there quite a bit. I have no problem with Atlantic City and have always
enjoyed myself and found something fun to do. *shrugs*

Oh also I went to the site for Mohegan Sun and the website alone is cooler than Atlantic City's. Now I kind of want to go there but it seems so far away..

Don't get me wrong, I don't gamble. Each Vegas casino has something interesting about it, whether it be the ambiance, shows, or clubs. All of these
aspects are within the casinos and draw my attention. Atlantic City had a sort of dingy feel to it and there was really nothing exciting to look at.
In terms of accessibility, I thought that getting from one nice casino to the next was ridiculous, like you HAD to drive. Charging for parking was also ridiculous, I remember it being like a $7.00 flat rate at every casino. |

I like it. Of course I've never been to Vegas, so I'm sure it doesn't compare, but I have fun in AC. Aside from the casinos, there's tons of
shopping as well.

mikeyroxs32 wrote:What? No strip of casinos? The whole main avenue is a strip of casinos! Unless you mean the ones closer to the entrance of AC. Otherwise, you get out and walk from casino to casino or walk on the boardwalk from casino to casino, so then you don't have to pay. Or, well, there are shuttles that take you anywhere you want to go, open all night, for like a dollar. It's fun if you know what you want to do and if you use the shuttles. If
you go and don't know about how to get around and are stressing about everything, it will be stressful, but I guess it's like that for all vacations!

It's alright. You can definitely go from one hotel to the other cause there's a boardwalk behind the casinos (parallel to the street) that connects the
back entrances of the hotels. And then, there is a beach which is nice, and a mini-fair to play games and such. I do agree that it sucks for you to have to pay
for parking though.
If you're not into casinos, then you can go shopping. There are TONS of shops around the area, especially outlet stores. For me, I mainly go for the shopping cause I'm not into gambling. I like seeing the hotels but they are nothing compared to the ones in Vegas. There's not much to do other than shopping and/or gambling quite honestly. I'm not too familiar with the areas nearby, but from my experience, I think it's an alright place to visit for a day. |
