political debate today during circle time.
I was reading a book about Ariel wanting to marry the prince, and one of my boys announced that girls only
marry boys. It was an odd announcement, but I was just like "....ok!" and went to keep reading. Then one of my girls yelled across to him, "No!
Girls can marry girls. And boys can marry boys! People can marry whoever they want when they grow up." And she was seriously ready to beat him down, if
only with her glare.
I wanted to high five her, but I just tried to end the conversation quickly instead. The last thing I need is his very conservative parents--and they are indeed, very conservative--going to my director, telling them I tried to fill their son's mind with a sinful, anti-family, anti-everythinggoodandpureinlife agenda. Although that would be kind of fun too.
