All the shows may depend on the kids for life but only the Gosselins way of life depend now solely on their kids ( or at least the majority of their income
does).

i think the other families get a pass because they are intact and seem to be sane. the actions of jon and kate the last few months might raise some suspicions
about the welfare of the kids. i dunno. just a guess.
nobody was worried when all was normal in the gosselin house but now that she hates him, he hates her, they both hate the tabloids maybe it might be worth a check by the state to make sure the kids are not being "overworked." they don't need to be the pawns of the jon and kate go crazy tour of 2009. |

The company markets accessibility kits for little people to the hospitality industry. As the first season ended, Matt started another job as a software salesman with Amdocs in order to provide the family with additional income." |

Both Roloff parents own their own businesses, and the Duggar family own two businesses and have a cell phone tower on their property (which generates A LOT of money). |

So the books are like a written form of the TLC show. It can be argued that the books are just as exploitative as the show. |

No one would buy Kate's books if she wasn't "Kate" from a TLC show. And the one I saw at the store had a picture of each kid plastered on the
cover.

The Roloffs could use the income from that show as much as Jon and Kate did. Yes they might still work and have their little side projects but that show has
helped them a out a lot financially as well as helped their business out, so they are making money just the same. I'm sure given the opportunity their
asses would quit to. Unfortunately for them (or fortunately) their show hasn't gotten that popular minus the dad driving drunk (or not drunk, however that
story went)

I say give them time as well...Jon didn't quit his job until after the series was already a pretty good amount in and rolling. Also, lets not forget that Discovery Networks plus other sponsors paid for the Duggars house, AND a full pantry and household appliances. They're lapping that shit up just like the Gosselin's....so lets not pretend they're any different. After a couple more seasons they will probably be bringing in tons of money per episode (if they don't already). |

And with the way everyone shat their panties about the Gosselins having a new house, no one around here seemed to object when the Roloff's turned their house into a freakin mansion. And on the last LPBW episode, we all caught a glimpse of the new mercedes in the garage as well. Everyone on these shows rake in the dough. |

I think the money is only one of the issues. The main thing I feel is that kids have no say in having cameras on them all the time. I think in the past
this was not an issue, but now reality tv has made it a problem. Before reality tv was mostly adults doing this and deciding to have themselves in front of
cameras all the time.
