I think the money is only one of the issues. The main thing I feel is that kids have no say in having cameras on them all the time. I think in the past this was not an issue, but now reality tv has made it a problem. Before reality tv was mostly adults doing this and deciding to have themselves in front of cameras all the time.

I don't care if "kids have been through worse". I am sure kids go through way worse than many child actors before laws limited their camera time and made families put aside money for them too, but that doesn't mean adults should put kids in front of cameras all the time with no limit, and also make money off of them and give the kids nothing.

First of all, the kids are the reason this show exists, so they are performers and should be compensating in the form of trust funds. The parents should need to put a certain percentage of their money aside for the kids, and it should be a law to do this, now that these parents use their kids on reality tv for income and make a lot of money.

Second, I am sorry but it's not normal for kids to have cameras on them all the time. People think it's nothing, but these parents are making these kids live their lives in public. Would any of us have liked our friends seeing us on camera and hearing our parents problems on tv?

They are literally putting these kids images all over for everyone to see. Geeze when I look back at my childhood pics I am so glad no one had cameras on me all the time! Those kids are living an abnormal life with no privacy when those cameras are on. I don't care if they like the producers or not. All of those people have no interest in them except making bucks off of them. And the parents are making money off of them.

IMO this is worse than being a child actor. At least with a child actor their time is limited on camera, and they get to go home and live their life without cameras on them. These kids don't have their own time.

I read that contestants of Survivor get counseling to deal with the fact they will be followed all the time by cameras and they get counseling afterward, same for Biggest Loser. Just because children can not express how weird it is, since they know nothing else, does not mean it's ok. In fact it's worse.

Sorry, but reality tv has opened up a whole world for kids like this that did not exist before.

People may think these parents are different then octomom, but in many ways they are the same. Just because they are middle class and speak and look well,does not mean they are not opportunists and using their kids for bucks.

I saw ex child stars from the 60's and 70's and 80's on a show talking about how their parents exploited them and did not give them money. How many end up really fucked up and on drugs or dead? And look at Britney. Poor thing had to live her life to support her family and still does!

Sorry but it's not normal to have cameras on you and no one can tell me it does not change your behavior. When they even put a camera on my nephews they act differently. And is it good for the kids to be feeling it's normal to have people in their house and have their faces on camera?

I don't care if adults do it, but when they bring in underaged kids and profit from it, I think it has to be regulated.

Someone said that this is better than both parents working full-time. I don't agree, at least the kids would have some sort of normal life. And I am sorry but this woman was a nurse, why did she go and get more fertility treatments when we all know the possibiity of multiple births, if she could not afford to raise them without putting them on camera and exploting their childhood?

And how much time is she spending with them? She is on a camera all the time and now touring and making money.

Sorry but I think all of these parents who do this are not right.

People get all riled up over octomom for exploiting her kids and not being able to afford them, well these parents are doing the same thing, only thing is they are middle class.

There are other families like the people who had sextuplets who make it on less money than Jon and Kate did when they worked real legitimate jobs. I remember that family where the father hardly had any money and they are not putting their kids on reality tv.

Let's be real, these people have motivations of being celebrities and not just making a living but being very rich, and that is fine. But when you use your kids and exploit them and put them on camera it's another story.

All of these reality show people want fame and attention, and really they all make me kind of sick by how they become stars for doing nothing.
