And I know it's eat less and exercise, but I want you to be more specific! Any particular programs or diets that have worked for you? I want to lose
about 80 pounds, and I have hypothyroidism so it's hard for me to lose and VERY easy for me to gain. Any suggestions, JJB?

No particular diets but making sure you have a workout plan for each day and sticking to it is the best way. And laying off the greasy, high carb foods,
drinking more water and less of everything else.

Well, if you have hypothyroidism...don't you have to do things a little differently than someone that doesn't? Have you asked your doctor?

I'm no diet or exercise expert as I've never had to really do either (I exercise on occasion but it's to help tone my body, not to lose weight).
But, one of the most common things said no matter what diet you choose, is you eat less more often. Never eat until you're full and eat at least 2 full
meals a day. You snack every couple of hours in between. Also try not to eat after 8:00 at night. Some swear by 7, but I say 8 is a good number. And never eat
at least 2 hours before you go to sleep. You cannot digest food in your sleep.

just what you said. limit your calorie intake. and workout. i found it fun to find lots of 50 and 100 calorie snacks to munch on all the time. and limit my
intake to 1000 calories a day. (you probably shouldn't be that low) and then at least burn 300 calories.
now that it's summer... get outside! swim, hike, whatever. just what i did though... definitely not the healthiest option. |

I lost 30 pounds (and kept it off for over a year now) with sparkpeople.com
Its good because its pretty much the 'diet and exercise' idea. |

People on here RAVE about weight watchers since it actually teaches you how to change your eating habits and isn't just a diet.

I have the same question, kind of. The past few weeks I've been wondering if I should be watching calories, fat, or carbs.
