Has anyone ever gone on vacation by themselves? I am in desperate need of a vacation, work stress is well, stressing me out to the max. All of my friends
can't get away when I want to go, so I am wondering if anyone has gone on vacation alone. What did you do? Where did you go? How was it?

I haven't done it before, but I think it'd be fine. You get to set your own itinerary, choose where you eat, dawdle as much as you want (I like reading
the factual information at art galleries and museums about the exhibits; one of my friends gets so annoyed with that
 )
I think it'd be great! If my friend doesn't get back to me about Boston, I'm considering a 5-day Contiki tour in Hawaii.

 You get more stuff done and it's all about you I only went to NYC alone - but im doing 2 weekend trips to Chicago and Cincinatti in June and
July and doing it alone

i spent 4 days on vacay w/myself and LOVED it!
it was nice to do whatever i wanted whenever i wanted. i would do it again in a heartbeat. |

I am thinking of going to Vegas on my own, I just want to relax by a pool, drink fruity drinks, and read all day.
Maybe get a massage and sleep in a king-sized bed. I don't want my office calling me! |

I took a few long weekends to the Smokey Mountains. It was nice deciding for myself where and when to go. And no one else to blame when I sat in traffic for a
couple hours to get to the mountains cuz I got up too late.
I'd do it again. |

I'd be too lonely to have any fun at all, but I can see how that would be relaxing for some people. It depends on your personality. I'm just not that

Gatlinburg is so cute and fun. I've been there a lot since it's only about an hour or so away from where I live.

Do it! If I ever get back to Gatlinburg, I want to take one of the helicopter tours of the mountains. They looked fun and the scenery must be gorgeous.

Gatilinburg is cute and fun, agree with what previous posters had to say about it. However, if I was getting stressed out and needed a vacation, I would park
my ass at a spa for a long weekend. Get massages to work out the kinks, a nice bed room to sleep, bring some favorite wines, books, and just take me time.
