'Not just a pretty face' Earlier this month, U.N. goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie was in Washington, D.C., to observe World Refugee Day sponsored by the United Nations refugee agency. She spoke of her visits to refugee camps in Tanzania and Pakistan. Congress has the power of the purse and appropriates funding for the U.N. and other relief efforts. Schock was among only a handful of congressmen invited to an event on the rooftop of the Newseum featuring the actress. He said he spoke with Jolie for 10 to 15 minutes about how she got involved with the refugees and what Congress can do to help. She told him her mother was from Illinois and invited him to visit a refugee camp. "She is a beautiful woman and also very smart. She knew the issues related to the refugee camp; she's not just a pretty face on the issue," Schock said. "She did a good job articulating how important the U.S. role is in the U.N.'s efforts on refugees." (K.M.)

Rumor has it that Brad Pitt could be the future Mayor of New Orleans... but is it true?
There's baloney in this jambalaya! Pitt's has been very active in efforts to help rebuild the Big Easy after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, but he won't be running for office... at least not now, anyway.
"Brad Pitt for Mayor" t-shirts have become all the rage, but citizens of New Orleans will have to settle for the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star being their beloved resident and supporter, not in City Hall.
