Someone on TWOP posted this and I 100% agree:
I get the feeling that no matter who wins AI, his victory will be tainted. If Adam wins, there will still be the shadow of all of the producers' and judges' efforts to pimp him and sabotage the other contestants in order to insure that win. Adam didn't need all of that support, and TPTB only opened him up to backlash with their OTT preferential treatment of him. If Kris wins, there will always be the question of whether he won because of voter homophobia or religious conservatism (spurred on by the angel vs. devil/sinner vs. saint theme the PTB have set up). There will be backlash from those who will think Kris "robbed" Adam and only coasted to the win because of fanatical "tween" voters (I think the recent Jimmy Kimmel video hurt Kris by making him seem lightweight). None of these things will be Adam or Kris's fault; but what will be forgotten in the end is the deep and true talent these guys possess and how both are intelligent, kind, and generous young men who appeal to a wide variety of viewers/listeners. There's no way to "feel good" about the ending of AI8, even if your favorite wins, because TPTB and the media made damn sure everyone focused on all the noise and not the music. |

Apparently there was an AI press conference today. The Davids were there. From Archie's twitter...

Cook was there I was waiting for you to walk in! ha @TheRealJordin Oh, well I wasn't even planning on staying in LA! Cook said I should come though, so I did at the last minute! haha. That TwoP post is full of too much negativity. They spend way too much time thinking about Idol over there. 90% of the time I enjoy it but I say... let's
just take what we got. I mean, no Adam/Danny finale is victory enough. Even Anoop fans can agree with that
