I'm not sure if you guys remember me posting about it the other day. I was saying how petfinder sucks me in, and that I really want a dog, but I don't
have the time or patience to train one and even trust my own training ability..
Well, I emailed this one woman on petfinder about a beagle that she had in her shelter. I guess her family lost their jobs and had to leave their house and move into an apartment that didn't accept dogs. She emailed me back and said she had already adopted the one that I was interested in, but that another family had emailed her and they have a dog that's looking to get adopted.
I emailed the family, just to find out more about the dog and everything just fell into place! I guess her owner went into the hospital and isn't going to make it. His kids tried to give her to the local shelter, but they were so full they said they'd have no choice but to put her to sleep. She's a 5 year old beagle. She's all up to date on her shots and they're giving me her vet records. She's obviously house trained and loves her crate. They said she's great with kids and is very placid for a beagle.
I'm so excited! I pick her up on Monday. I got her a new crate, bed, toys, food, treats, shampoo, freshening spray, brush, 2 collars, 2 leashes and a post to stick in the ground that has 60 ft of cord until we get our invisible fence
