You could tell he had definitely read about people thinking he was using the death of his wife to get sympathy votes. He does seem like a genuine and nice person, and he should be proud of himself for coming so far in 10 months, after what he went through with the loss of his wife. I love how they cleared up the heart/Lenscrafters thing. Haha.

I don't doubt that his loss was a painful one, I think people just didn't like the fact that it was brought into the competition, knowing it would become his defining 'story' and the reason why people knew about him. He was known as the guy with the 'dead wife' and that's AI's fault for including it or his own for talking about it. I understand grieving but do it in private. Beyond that he just rubbed everyone the wrong way. He must understand that some of his reactions and comments came off as ridiculously arrogant. I do feel bad that he lost his wife though, no one should go through that.

Remember Ryan did say only 1 million votes separated the top two. And there were what, over 80 million votes so this is still a very very close race. Kris can still win it!!! Like someone said before, if most of the Danny voters vote for Kris, Kris can take it all!

If you think about it, he only brought it up on the show once or twice and this was early on in the show.... it was during his audition and they showed his background video so naturally they would show what he was going through. I'm sure AI wanted to exploit his situation in some ways. But after that, I don't remember him bringing it up on the show. He never whined to the judges and brought it up to them. I felt bad for him. To go through that and people say, "We don't want to hear it.. get over it" and things like that probably really got to him. Paula was a mess in the AI Extra video with Danny's departure. All the judges seemed sad to see him go. I hope good things come for him in the future.
