Lily is a teen drama is to be developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. It is the second series in the Gossip Girl franchise created by Josh Schwartz. The show is planned to premiere in the US on The CW Television Network in 2009. The show will begin through a backdoor pilot on a May 11 episode of Gossip Girl.
- There were conflicting reports whether a spinoff would air based on the book series The It Girl or center on character Jenny Humphrey or Georgina Sparks. However, nothing was ever confirmed. The creators of Gossip Girl then announced that they are going back to the future with a spinoff involving beloved mother of Serena, Lily Van Der Woodsen before she became a mom. The show will be set in the 1980s when Lily was living as a wild child Valley Girl.
- The show was officially green-lit by The CW on January 14, 2009 and the proposed plot was announced and the tentative pilot date is to air on May 11, 2009 and from there it will be ordered for new episodes or not.
