Before she looked like a 40/50 year old that didn't take good care of herself, and now she looks like she is 70. That's one of the worst makeovers I've ever seen. And yeah I don't see anything bad with her having a Burberry, we all like to splurge on ourselves now and then and have something nice to wear. I don't think that Susan Boyle is that different from the rest of us.

It was all for shock value. I'm sorry, but what? She came across as a delusional mental patient? Ooookay. I thought her dress represented her personality that came through in the video/interview. And yeah, maybe that first time seeing her didn't scream leather and Burberry but maybe the clapping and feedback she got on the show gave her a boost of confidence? Maybe she saw herself on TV for the first time and said "Oh my, I've got to change that." Maybe she told herself "If you make it through on the show, if you do great, give yourself a makeover." Maybe someone is dressing her because they said "No, the spinster look has got to go." Who knows. I read somewhere that her mother, before she died, told her to get into singing or do something with her singing, maybe she also said "Hey wear some leather and Burberry" :shrugs

She did come across a little out there based on her unruly hair, undone brows, horrid clothing, and lack of clarity in speech(who appears on national tv that way?) It was until after her "you should never judge a book by it's cover" cheesy performance that most people realized she was normal and deserved to be there.
