Why is that such a bad thing? I told someone today that I was waiting a few more years before we have a baby and that I wanted to be about 30 and they thought
that was the stupidest thing ever?!

I'm 26 right now and I'm not planning to have kids until I'm in my 30's. I don't see anything wrong with that. Not everyone has to settle
down in their 20's.

Kids tend to have more medical problems the older the mother is.

I see nothing wrong with it, but complications increase with age. Also, the ability to get pregnant can get more problematic for some people.

People have kids into their 40's, and now thanks to in-vitro, even older. Mostly everyone I know was born to a mother over 35.

I fully plan on my 30s to be my childbirthing years. I'm hoping to be primarily debt free and with a nest egg before I pop em out.

My sister just had her baby and she is 39. It is risky, so she was monitored closer during the pregnancy just to determine the baby was developing correctly.
but I now have a PERFECT 2 month old nephew that is to die for!
They are planning for a second baby- soon! |

I don't want a child until I'm in my 30's...most likely mid 30's. To me your 20's are a time to have fun, be young, travel, and experience
life. I don't want to settle down and devote my life to someone else (a child and family) until I'm in my 30's.

To each their own, but I would prefer to have kids in my 20's. I have a young mother and I've loved the experience. Not to mention the younger you are
the faster your body bounces back, the less risks there are, etc.

Its not a bad thing at all. However, I am one of those people who swore that I would never have a child past the age of 25 and Im sticking to it.

I don't think anything under 35 is 'old' to have a kid at all!

It's pretty common nowadays. 30yrs ago people had kids in early 20's, now so many people marry in late 20's, and have kids in their 30's.
It's not a big deal, now when a man is having kids at 60, that's old lol.

I'm not having children until my 40's. Who cares what people think. It's your life.

Tons of people have kids in their 30s now, especially now that women are having more successful careers. I don't even think health is an issue before the
age of 35. I'm 21 now, and I'd prefer to have kids in my early 30s. Don't let anyone tell you that having kids in your 30s isn't a good idea.
It's the perfect age for many.

Don't let anyone change your mind. I had kids in my early 20s and if I could do it over I would have definitely waited until my 30s. You could have so much
more money saved by then. You could stay home longer with the baby if you wanted. It just makes more sense for most people to wait until their 30s or even 40s.
