My BF and our dogs were walking on the beach with our dogs on leashes. I saw a pitbull in the distance, and then saw it coming towards us, but I wasn't
really concerned because I figured nobody would let their dog run loose if it was aggressive. The dog came over and all the sudden grabbed my dog by the throat
and started shaking him.
My dog is an Italian greyhound, so he's only 12 lbs and he has very thin skin and no body fat. I literally thought I was watching my dog die. By some miracle, we got the dog to let go, and my dog is ok. We took him right to the vet and he has some puncture wounds and bruising, but nothing serious. He is on antibiotics and pain meds and can't be walked with a collar for a week. I am so happy that he is ok, but I keep replaying the scene over and over in my head.
The pitbull's owner was very apologetic and nice, but come on! If your dog attacks other dogs keep it on a leash.
