I think Canada's ego got a bit bruised this week over the Fox Red Eye controversy and now this Ann Coulter stuff. I will admit it upset me at first but
whatever....everyone knows not to pay attention to Coulter. The more attention we give that twit the more she wins.
Although...I must say I'd really LOVE to throw a pie at her. |

I dont think of Canada as a joke, but I think it kind of started off that way because Canada isn't really known for anything specific. They're just
kind of....there.

You'd be suprised at the amount of countries who think America is one big fat joke.

ann coulter is a radical extremist two clicks away from jihad.
i think a lot of americans have a misguided view of canada. liberals do like it a lot, but i think it's a pretty militant country. obviously not in the literal sense, but i think there's a lot more social control going on in canada than people think. |

It's pretty appalling that a news program would make fun of Canada...I mean pop culture makes fun of Canada all the time (see: South Park

It wasn't a real news program though. It was Fox News.

yeah the red eye program on fox isn't a news show. it's like a the soup meets the daily show. it's an entertainment type show. i didn't
hear/see the ann coulter bit but nobody really pays her any attention anyway.

I really like Canada. Deep love for the place.
I have been there since I was a few weeks or months old. Whenever I go there I actually feel in some way a lot more comfortable/relaxed there than where I am now, including other places I have lived - kind of strange in some way. |

Seaner, your friend is a dumbass:
"Canada is the single largest foreign supplier of energy to the U.S.--providing 17% of U.S. oil imports and 18% of U.S. natural gas demand. Recognition of the commercial viability of Canada's oil sands in Alberta has raised Canada's proven petroleum reserves to 179 billion barrels, making it the world's second-largest holder of reserves after Saudi Arabia." "The U.S. is Canada's leading agricultural market, taking 55% of its agro-food exports in 2007. " http://www.buyusa.gov/canada/en/traderelationsusacanada.html |

she wasn't referring to energy she was referring to military.
eta...but she was kind of speaking in a south park tongue in cheek type vibe as well. |
