Ethiopians are the most beautiful black people.
Africans look down on them becuase they don't considered them black. There is I talian deep in their ancestry that is why they have the more softer features, high cheek bones etc.. Iman is also from Ethiopia. She was so gorgeous in her day. |

Gidget wrote:TOTALLY wrong. It's not italian blood as Ethiopia is the ONLY african country that was never EVER colonized by any country. They are just part of the Nhilothic types (other types include the Bantu with different variety, the pygmeas, the bushmen, the sudanese group with the tallest man in the world...usually very thin with narrow hips and very darkskin like Alek Wek, who looks typical Sudenese, Bantu having the more variety skin wise, features wise from the peuls or the baluba of the congo who could be as light as an italian could be from other brown to darker skin ones, from any type of features and being the most numorous) and other groups which usually tend to have refine facial traits and sometimes larger hips. The nilothics, called because they were near the Nile are made of Erythreans, Ethiopians, Somalis, nothern Kenyans , some tribes in the eastern part of Ouganda, nothern Kenyans and Burundese and rwandese tutsis, who usually share the same facial features but also very wide hips. As the horn of Africa is very near middle east, you will notice that some Somali, Erythreans (more than Ethipians who usually are darker) look like many Yemenites, as Eastern Africa have been more submitted in its history to eastern and arab slavery proximity and influence (hence they are muslims) when western Africa, especially Bantu from central Africa were totally christianized (some with strong hold of the Muslim world because of the proximity of nothern muslims country) and were part of the western slavery in the Carabeans, Brasil and the US for the most part. They were under european influence long before Eastern Africa were. Oh and Africans don't look down on them but there is a sense of superiority that most Nilothics have towards their other brothers and within their community since not everyone has fine long hair or becauser of the different shade of the skin tone and there is also the legitimate feeling from Ethiopians that they are the only country that was never submitted to the Euro colonisation and is the only country who was never a colony of anyone.

blessedvirgin wrote: I think Iman is the most recognizable but the most beautiful African model ever was Khadija Adam Ismael...She was stunning with real relaxed hair long down her back. She had the perfect face, perfect lips, eyes, nose and body and a grace and sophistication unmatched to this day. She was Miss Kenya, then Miss Africa in 1985 or 1986 and was at a time the egerie of Yves Saint Laurent who even made a perfume where she was featuring as the first black model to ever grace a picture and have a deal for a perfume I think her intellect and kinda shyness (she was the daughter of a diplomat) make that, like Ines Sartre, she didn't last in is now forgotten. ...But boy, was she so spectacularly beautiful. |

href="http://supermodels.nl/liyakebede">Liya Kebede is a supermodel born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As a young woman, Liya did modeling
in her native Ethiopia. She has remarked that the modeling industry in that country is quite different from the European catwalks from which she is now seen
ubiquitously. In Ethiopia, she had to provide her own shoes for each runway show.
While in school at the French Lycee, a film director spotted Liya and introduced her to a French modelling agent. After completing her studies, she moved to France to pursue work through a local Parisian agency. After a short time, Liya re-located to NYC where she currently resides with her husband Kassy Kebede. She has been seen on the covers of Italian, Japanese and Spanish Vogue, V, French, Flair, i-D and Time's Style & Design. She is one of a very few ethnically African models featured in major fashion photo shoots and runway shows. She is often used in haute couture and other high-class clothing campaigns, as well as Victoria's Secret (though she is not the curvy, busty Swimsuit model type http://www.supermodels.nl/Modelpics/tyrabanks/a.jpg />')" onmouseout=PrevHide() href="http://supermodels.nl/tyrabanks">Tyra Banks and http://www.supermodels.nl...pics/naomicampbell/a.jpg />')" onmouseout=PrevHide() href="http://supermodels.nl/naomicampbell">Naomi Campbell were). Liya has been featured in ad campaigns including Gap, YSL, Emanuel Ungaro, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana and currently in S/S 2004 ads for Escada and Louis Vuitton. Liya was recently named the newest face of Estee Lauder cosmetics, the first black to serve as their representative in the company's 57-year history. This compelled the New York Times to write an article about how Liya has successfully triumphed over the challenges that face models of color in today's industry. Liya has also established herself amongst the ranks of fashion's elite on the NY - Milan - Paris runway circuit. Her big break came when Tom Ford asked Liya to walk in exclusive for his Gucci A/W 2000 fashion show. In 2005, she was appointed as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. She currently lives in New York City with her husband Kassy Kebede and son Suhul. http://supermodels.nl/liyakebede/about |
