This paper was longggg and stressful and their press releases made me mad and my accounting textbook made me mad. And not I don't want to look at my
iPhone anymore. I think that I'll put it in the corner of my room tonight and punish it just for being an Apple product. Unless someone wants to babysit
it tonight and give it back to me tomorrow morning

Probably not. I had to compare Apple's financial statements to Microsoft's. And answer like 20 questions in a 5 page paper. I made the font really
small so it all fit

Don't get me wrong, their products are great, but they needa focus on satisfying the consumer. Also, when they release something, they want control. That's why they haven't been in the gaming world with Sony and Microsoft, because they refuse to let other people be apart of whatever project they do. |

LimitedRetroOG wrote: LMFAO. Wrong. There are tons of iPhone apps! How is that not letting anybody be a part of what they do? So a company wants control over their product, so what? Anybody can make an iPhone app. Anybody can put their podcast or video podcast on iTunes. There is a ton of user-generated content to be had on these iPhones and iPods. No offense, but I don't really think you know what you're talking about. |

They have in their statements "In contrast, the Company generally recognizes revenue and cost of goods sold for its other products, such as Macs and iPods, at the time of sale, as the Company does not provide future unspecified features or additional software products to those customers free of charge. " Tons of other companies make you pay for stuff like that. |

Usually other companies don't expect a cut of the profits, at all. That's also why they're so against jailbreaking and 3rd-party applications, because the applications on those are free and Apple won't get paid. Why do you think the iPhone was originally gonna go to Verizon, but then went to AT&T? Cuz Apple wanted too much control. |

Well at least you got to do an interesting company! (which imo always made it easier for me in my Accounting and Finance classes).

LimitedRetroOG wrote: So what do you want with your iPod? The ability to synch it through any music software? I'm no Apple fangirl (I'm typing this on a PC) but I do have an iPhone and an iPod and I don't really have a problem with any of it. Aren't there usually exclusive deals between the phone company and the new phones that come out? If I want the touch-screen blackberry, don't I have to have Verizon? If I want a sidekick, don't I have to have T-Mobile? |

Think about it, besides the cosmetic changes and more memory, the features on the current iPod Classic has been the exact same since '06! Yes, there are exclusive deals between cell phone companies and manufacturer, but I believe I read Apple wants 50% of the profits from their sales. No other company wants 50%. |

The point of a company is to make a profit for its shareholders. If people are willing to pay for the product then its acceptable for them to charge for it. If
they are able to get a high percentage of profits from a contract, then they should take it. People don't have to buy any of the products if they don't
want to pay for it. Apple has products that are in high demand and they have the right to make good money off that while it lasts. It would be a terrible
business plan to give up all of these potential profits just because it makes them look like a greedy company.

You're Apple and 2. It looks cool. You also want to please your consumers. |
