I remember watching MTV a couple years ago and they were doing a special about the Holocaust and went to the streets to ask teenagers/young adults "What is the Holocaust" and they answered with "Isn't that when Jews celebrate Christmas, but not actually on Christmas" or "Like the war with nuclear weapons, US against Russia" or this sad one "It's 2005, we don't need to be learning about stuff that happened in the 18th century." But I'm sure they know their pop culture!
