She is insisting to me that they're classic and I just need to go to the South to see normal mid- 20s people wear them. (Never mind the fact that I haven't seen anyone wear them in a decade and have lived in the South in that time period.) So. Am I just missing some fashion trend somewhere? 'Cause I can't see why anyone would actually wear Keds...

I don't wear them often though, but they are cute. They are apparently making pumps now! I saw them advertised in the Kohl's flyer

She does have one polo dress that I abhor, but she rarely wears it. Other than that, her wardrobe is normal mid- 20s stuff. It's just the Keds that are random and that she thinks are so awesome.
