Chapter 66

"Thanks for calling Charlie. Yeah. I know. We may have to move then. I know. I will keep my gun with me as always. Yeah. I'll be on alert too. Thanks Charlie. Yeah. Bye." Said Matt walking into the living room with a look of uncertainty in his eyes as he flipped his phone off two weeks later

"What?" asked Sarah looking up at him from her future mother in law's bookshelf.

"I think you better sit down." Said Matt

"What is it?" asked Sarah

"Just sit down please." Said Matt

"What is it?" asked Sarah again

"Please Sarah." Said Matt

"Its serious if you're calling me Sarah. Okay. Tell me. Is it my parents? Will? Oh no John." Said Sarah sitting down slowly

"Yeah. He was spotted at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City." Said Matt sitting down beside her

"Okay. I thought you made it impossible for him to get medical help. Its been eight weeks since we seen him, I was hoping he would have bled to death." Said Sarah

"Eventually not. He held a doctor at gun point and forced him to stitch him up. When the police got there, he shot the doctor and killed him. Somehow he got away." Said Matt

"All this started because he was jealous of a good relationship between a stepfather and a stepdaughter." Said Sarah

"Charlie said he was last seen heading South." Said Matt

"Do you think he is coming here?" asked Sarah

"Its possible, but Baby I don't want you worry. Charlie is coming and we are going to protect you." Said Matt

"Why is Charlie coming?" asked Sarah

"I guess to help protect you and Will." Said Matt

"Okay." Said Sarah as Will let out a cry from the nursery

"Oh. I better go feed him. My breasts are feeling a little full and swollen." Said Sarah getting up

"Can I help?" asked Matt smiling

"No, cause the only reason you want to help is because you want to see my bare breasts." Said Sarah

"That is true, but I get more pleasure out of them then he does. I just cant help it if I'm a breast man." Said Matt

"I'll be right back." Said Sarah walking toward the nursery

"It's a good thing your mom took Susanna for the day, so you and I can be alone." Said Sarah

"I cant wait to take you in my arms." Said Matt leaning back against the couch

Chapter 67

"Matt!" yelled Sarah as she cried and looked into an empty crib

"What?" asked Matt running into the nursery

"He's gone." cried Sarah

"What?" asked Matt looking into the empty crib himself

"Will's gone." Said Sarah with panic in her voice as the door behind the bodyguard and the protectee slammed shut

"Hello Sarah." Said JD

Sarah and Matt turned around to see her attacker standing there holding Will in the crook of his arms

"You Bastard! Give me back my baby!" yelled Sarah charging after him

"Not so fast." Said JD holding a gun up to the infant's head.

It was a de ju vu scene before his eyes as Matt quickly grabbed his gun and shielded his arm to protect Sarah

"Let him go." Said Matt

"A man cant be allowed to see his son." Said JD

"He's my son. Not yours." Said Sarah

"Sarah, hush." Said Matt

"I just wanted to see my son. I wont hurt him." Said JD as Matt slowly walked up to him

"JD, we had a DNA test done and Will is my son." Said Matt

"No. He's mine. What's his name?" asked JD as he started to shake and sweat

"Does it matter? He's my son." Said Matt calmly

"Tell me what his name is." Said JD

"William John Davis Summers." Said Sarah calmly

"You're lying." Said JD

"No she's not." Said Matt

"He's my son." Said JD

"Yes he is, but you don't need to do this. Just give back the baby and after all this is resolved, you can help raise him and love him like Sarah does." Said Matt

"I didn't mean to do anything wrong. I was just mad at my father, I grew up my entire life wanting his love and attention. I never got it." Said JD

"Yes you did. Bill knew he loved you and when things got bad that day, he was only trying to protect me." said Sarah

"I didn't kill him." Said JD starting to cry

"We know, JD. Now lower the gun and hand over the baby." Said Matt calmly reaching for the two week old

"I'm going to jail." Said JD

"Yeah, but it will be all right. Your son will still be here when you get out, so you can still see him and he will know how much his father loves him." Said Matt putting his hands under the baby's arms and gently lifting the infant out of the attacker's arms.

"Here. Take him. Close your eyes and plug his ears." Said Matt whispering to Sarah as Matt put their son in his mother's arms and Sarah nodded.

JD stood there shaking and sweating as he melted down realizing what he has done.

Matt aimed his gun at him.

Charlie opened the door causing Matt to look up and JD to grab the gun in the bodyguard's hand.

The bodyguard and the attacker stood up against each other fighting for the gun.

Sarah backed away toward the wall, clutching her baby to her chest.

Watching the two men fight for a gun, Sarah slid down the wall and pulled the crib over in front of her to shield her and her child from the fighting.

The sound of a gun shot filled the room as Sarah watched and wondered who the bullet hit.

A thud sound then filled the room as JD's body fell to the ground.

Sarah and the baby cried as Matt looked at the dead body before him.

"He's gone." Said Charlie kneeling down and checking for a pulse then closing the attacker's eyes

"The gun never went off. It's a water pistol. It's a fucking water pistol. Sarah? Sarah? Its okay. Charlie got him." Said Matt walking over to a scared Sarah and moving the crib

"Is he dead?" asked Sarah shakily getting up as Matt took the baby in his arms.

"Yes, he's dead. Its all over now, Baby." Said Matt holding her as best as he could

"Thank you, Daddy." Said Sarah looking over at Charlie

"You're welcome." Said Charlie

"Daddy?" asked Matt

"Matt, Charlie is my father." Said Sarah

"And Sarah is my father." Said Charlie

"Oh." Said Matt shell-shocked

"I'm stepping down as Chief. I'm giving you my job." Said Charlie

"Why?" asked Matt

"Because you deserve it and because you'll be marrying my daughter and I know you don't want two lives. Plus I want to spend time with Will and Susanna and whoever else comes along." Said Charlie

"So you were the one who killed Bill?" asked Matt

"And John. All because my little girl was in danger." Said Charlie

"Thank you, Daddy." Said Sarah walking over to him and hugging him

"You're welcome." Said Charlie hugging her back

Chapter 68

One year later

Matt walked into the house to the smell of chicken casserole baking in the oven.

His nose lead him to the kitchen.

Opening the door, he leaned against it and watched the picture before him.

His twenty one month old daughter was on the floor banging on pots with a wooden spoon.

His one year old son was crying in the arms of his mother and gripping her shirt.

His bride seemed to be patient with all the noise and chaos.

His wedding band on his left hand reflected off the sun peering in the window and bounced on the wall causing Sarah to look up and smile

"Hey." Said Sarah

"Hey. What is with the tears, Buddy?" asked Matt kissing his wife on the lips

"He's teething." Said Sarah

"Oh Come here." Said Matt lifting the little boy our of his mother's arms

"How was she today?" asked Matt

"Mama's perfect angel." Said Sarah

"Good." Said Matt

"And the twins have been good too." Said Sarah rubbing her eighth month pregnant stomach

"Good." Said Matt

"Your mom and my parents are coming over for dinner." Said Sarah

"Good. I love our big family." Said Matt

"Me too." Said Sarah

"And I especially love you, Spoilt Brat." Said Matt kissing her on the lips

"I love you too, Brillow Head." Said Sarah
