Chapter 32
The warmth of the kitchen stove warmed them. The smell of their kitchen filled the entire cabin And the clinging of the silverware to the dishes is all that can be heard as the bodyguard and his protectee sat in silence eating their dinner that night. "I don't hate children. Its just one screw up can fuck up the kid." Said Matt as he ate the spaghetti dinner that he and Sarah cooked "Not necessarily." Said Sarah "Well, it happened for Susanna." Said Matt "What happened to make you think that?" asked Sarah "I shot her mom." Said Matt as Sarah starts to chuckle and stops as she sees the grim look on Matt's face "You're kidding right?" asked Sarah "No." said Matt "You're serious." Said Sarah "As a heart attack." Said Matt "What happened Matt?" asked Sarah putting her left hand over her right "I met her mom Cassidy in a bar and we dated exclusively. She was the first woman I ever poured my heart to and she was the only woman I ever loved and actually said it and meant it." Said Matt "Sounds like Cassidy was special." Said Sarah "She was. I was going to marry her. I even bought her a ring. I never got to give it to her." Said Matt "Why?" asked Sarah "Charlie had assigned me to protect this girl for a short time." Said Matt "Yeah." Said Sarah listening "Well, a short time turned out to be a year." Said Matt "A year?" asked Sarah "Yeah." Said Matt "Wow." Said Matt "When I got home, things were different." Said Matt "Different? Cassidy found out you were cheating on her." Said Sarah "No. You don't get it. I loved this woman. I was planning on marrying her. I couldn't cheat on her." Said Matt "So what happened after a year when you came back?" asked Sarah "It wasn't a year. It was almost a year." Said Matt "Yeah." Said Sarah "When I came home, she had given birth to my baby." Said Matt "Susanna?" asked Sarah "Susanna. Yeah." Said Matt "Yeah." Said Sarah listening "I spent a couple of weeks helping out with the baby. You know changing the diapers, giving the baby a bottle, and other stuff." Said Matt "Yeah." Said Sarah smiling as she picture her big scary bodyguard with a baby in his arms. "One night I came home from work. I had just found out that I was going to be guarding you. She had gone completely crazy. She was screaming at me and throwing things. The baby was crying. I finally got them both calmed down and that's when I learned while I was gone on the assignment that she was diagnosed with bi polar. I told myself not to set her off, so we were having a good night and then she asked me when I start my next assignment and I told her." Said Matt "Go on." Said Sarah listening "She left the room and when she came back minutes later, she had the baby in her arms. Susanna was still a newborn and Cassidy wasn't holding her right. I tried to get her to hold her right, but she put a gun to Susanna's head." Said Matt "Oh my God no." said Sarah "I did the only thing I could do. I took out my gun too." Said Matt getting up and putting his plate in the sink "Okay. Tell me what happen next." Said Sarah "I cant." Said Matt "Why not?" asked Sarah "Because we both know how this is going to end. We both know what I did." Said Matt turning around and leaning against the sink "You know a few months back, a brillow head bodyguard told me once that if you tell your story, your whole story, that you will feel better and it worked." Said Sarah getting up "I shot her. I shot and killed Cassidy. It was either the baby or her. I wasn't going to shoot the baby. I didn't want to go through the rest of my life being a baby killer, so I shot her." Said Matt "That's what you told me when we found out I'm pregnant." Said Sarah "That's different." Said Matt "How?" asked Sarah "It just is. All this stuff I just told you was supposed to stay private. If you didn't see the picture in my wallet that day in the grocery store then this wouldn't be happening right now." Said Matt "Well, sorry, but when I see a picture of a cute little baby in my brillow head bodyguard's wallet, I have to ask. What happen after you shot and killed her?" asked Sarah "I had her cremated and spreaded her ashes over the garden she used to love to work in. The next day I took the baby over to my mother's and packed my bags for this assignment." Said Matt "Wait a minute, why didn't you have time to grieve?" asked Sarah "This is how my job is. I go on assignment and be Matt Sawyer the bodyguard and then after I'm done with the assignment, I come home and be Matt Sawyer the lover, Matt Sawyer the son, Matt Sawyer the brother and Matt Sawyer the father and as soon as this son of a bitch is behind bars, I go back to being them once again until Charlie needs me again. Now you see why I don't want children. I miss every fucking important thing in their lives." Said Matt "Then why don't you quit?" asked Sarah "Because I love my job, I love protecting the young, the old and the spoiled brats like you." Said Matt walking away as Sarah stood there with her mouth opened in shock and tears running down her cheeks. R&R |

Chapter 33
Sarah hugged her pink sweater to her torso as she stepped on the deck of the cool July night. Matt was leaning against the deck rail with his back toward her. A bottle of beer in his left hand and a cigarette in his mouth. 'What a good combination.' Thought Sarah as she slowly and quietly walked up beside him "What are you doing out here?" asked Matt taking the cigarette out of his mouth and blowing smoke in the direction away from the awaiting mother to be. "I wanted to say I was sorry." Said Sarah "For what?" asked Matt putting the beer bottle up to his thin pink lips and taking a long swig "For having you guard me. For being a spoilt brat. For starting an argument with you and for asking you about your past." Said Sarah as Matt snuffed out his cigarette on the deck railing "I'm eating my words now." Said Matt throwing the used cigarette over the railing "Yeah, but do you feel better?" asked Sarah "Sort of." Said Matt "Sort of is good." Said Sarah "I guess. Hell, Brown Eyes, my personal life is suppose to stay personal. I live two lives. Professional life and personal life. I'm not suppose to mix them up." Said Matt "Your personal life makes you sound like you have a heart and your professional life makes you sound mean and scary." Said Sarah "Okay." Said Matt "I one prefer the guy with the heart. Yeah. I like that guy." Said Sarah putting her hands around his neck "I cant be that guy." Said Matt reluctantly putting his arms around her waist "Yes you can. You can still be the guy who protects me that is mean and scary, but can open his heart to me." said Sarah "I don't know." Said Matt "You have a broken heart. Don't you think its time to let it heal?" asked Sarah "With you?" asked Matt softly "Yes. There aint no law saying you cant date your protectee." Said Sarah "I'm more of your employer then your bodyguard. I boss you around." Said Matt "Sometimes not very nicely either." Said Sarah "Hey. Someone has to get through to you and your hard head." Said Matt "I know." Said Sarah "Boy, if the other guys would hear about you and me." said Matt "It couldn't be the first time. I mean Richard Nixon's daughter fell in love and married her bodyguard. And they did it on The Nanny. Mr. Sheffield was the boss to Fran Fine and she was the children's…" said Sarah "Let me guess, the nanny." Said Matt "Yes." Said Sarah chuckling. Matt smiles and chuckles too, but then his smile faded as he looked down at her child filled belly pressing against his flat hard stomach. Matt looked up at his mother to be protectee with questions in his eyes. It was as if Sarah could read his mind as she answered "Yes. That's the baby moving." Said Sarah as Matt smiled. He leaned in and kissed Sarah softly on the lips as a dark shadow from the brightness of the moonlight shined down upon a figure behind a tree. R&R |

Chapter 34
Four weeks has gone by and nothing has changed between the protectee and the bodyguard. Although the two has shared little touches, little kisses and little looks. One night, Matt laid slumplessly in his bed as he tangled the thin white sheet around his naked being on the hot August night. "God." Said Matt ripping the sheet off of his sweaty body and getting up "Its too fucking hot." Said Matt putting on his lite blue and purple boxers then quietly grabbing his gun and tiptoed out of his room careful not to described the five month mother to be. Matt quiet opened the refrigerator door, grabbing an ice cold bottled water. He put the bottle up to his lips as he heard a moan coming from the bedroom "Brown Eyes?" asked Matt looking toward the direction of the bedroom with the bottle close to his lips as Sarah moaned again. Dropping the bottle on the wooden floor causing the water to splash and spill, Matt held his gun out in front of him so tight his knuckles turned white. "Brown Eyes?" asked Matt flipping the overhead light on as he walked in the room. Sarah moaned in her sleep as she too, like Matt, had her sheet tangled around her pregnant body. "Sarah? Honey? Wake up." Said Matt sitting down on the bed softly and gently shaking her shoulder "What?" asked Sarah waking up and shielding her eyes from the overhead light "Are you okay?" asked Matt "Yes. Why?" asked Sarah "I heard you moaning." Said Matt "Oh. My legs are cramping and its too hot to keep getting up and walking it off." Said Sarah "Oh. You had me worried there for a minute. I thought something bad happen to you." Said Matt getting up "Sorry." Said Sarah "Are you okay? Which leg is cramping?" asked Matt "Both of them." Said Sarah "Do you need to go see that doctor that you saw before?" asked Matt with a little panic in his voice "No. No. That isn't necessarily. The book said that its normal to have leg cramps now during the night." Said Sarah "Oh. Well, can I do anything for you?" asked Matt "You don't have too." Said Sarah "I want to." Said Matt with the look of strong wish to assist in his eyes. "Okay." Said Sarah as she sit up in bed "Where does the spasm hurt the most?" asked Matt "My caffes mostly." Said Sarah "Okay." Said Matt sitting back down on the bed and putting his big and strong hand on her small and tanned calf of her left leg "Thank you." Said Sarah smiling. Matt nods and begins to rub her calves. Sarah moaned and stroked her small hand over his musler back. "That feels so good." Said Sarah smiling "If only you would moan like that when we are together." Said Matt smirking "Matt." Said Sarah laughing as her cheeks turned a crimson red from embarrassment. Matt laughed laying down beside of her and kissing her R&R |

Chapter 35
The next day Sarah laid restlessly on the couch and read the book, 'The Magic Of Ordinary Days' by Ann Creel, for what Sarah thought was the umpteenth time. Sarah yawned and laid her head on the back of the couch as she tired to read the book, but memories from the night before flooded her mind. Although they did not have sex, Matt did hold her close to him for the rest of the night. Every time, she would wake up with leg twinges, Matt would wake up to and massage it out for her. Sarah laid restless in bed the rest of the night, cause of the sexual tension between her and her bodyguard. Sarah laid her hand on her semi huge midsection and smiled as she felt fluttering and a soft kick coming from inside her stomach "Oh my God, Matt! Come here." said Sarah "What?" asked Matt running in there all sweaty, wearing a cut off red shirt and black shorts with a black bandanna on his head and boxing gloves on his hand "You need to feel this." Said Sarah looking up at him "What?" asked Matt taking off his gloves and sitting down "You need to feel this." Said Sarah quickly taking off his gloves and tossing the gloves on the floor "What?" asked Matt looking at her with patient eyes "Here." Said Sarah as she gently laid his giant hand on her small stomach "Wait for it." Said Sarah looking into his questioning eyes "Wait for what? Oh my God." Said Matt as his eyes bugged out and his face lit up while he too felt the fluttering and the soft kicks "Isn't it amazing?" asked Sarah "Wow." Said Matt smiling and leaning over. Kissing her as his hand remained on her child fill stomach. R&R |

Chapter 36
Three weeks later Matt walked into the living room with his blue button down shirt and jeans on. Running his left hand through his dirty blonde hair, he grabbed his gun off the table and put it in the back of his jeans. "Are you ready to go?" asked Matt looking at his pregnant protectee sitting patiently on the couch "Yeah." Said Sarah pushing herself off as the big and scary bodyguard quickly coming to her aid and taking her hand. "Thanks." Said Sarah "Lets go. And afterward, I need to go by the station and talk to Charlie." Said Matt "Is it safe for me?" asked Sarah "It should be yes." Said Matt "Okay." Said Sarah smiling up at him with her big brown eyes. "You'll always be safe with me. I'll do anything to keep you safe." Said Matt "I know." Said Sarah "Lets go." Said Matt taking her hand and leading her out R&R |

Chapter 37
Matt parked the Ford Explorer into a space and repeatedly opened the door, taking out his gun and crossing the back of the car and opening Sarah's door. "Its safe. Come on." Said Matt gently taking her hand and helping her out "Okay." Said Sarah as Matt scanned the parking lot and guided her into the doctor's office. "Hi Carol." Said Sarah "Hi. Go on in and I'll tell Dr Caldwell you're here." Said Carol "Okay. Thank you." Said Sarah as Matt opened the door for her and they walked into the room "Put this gown on and I'll be back to draw some blood." Said Carol "Okay." Said Sarah as the nurse shut the door "I'll turn around." Said Matt "No. You don't have too." Said Sarah Matt smiled and nodded. R&R |

Chapter 38
A sound of a small knock caused Matt and Sarah to look up as the short brown hair doctor stepped in. "Hey you two." Said Dr Caldwell "Hey." Said Sarah "How have you been feeling?" asked Dr Caldwell pulling the small stool over beside the patient "Good. I have been bored, but I'm good." Said Sarah "And the baby?" asked Dr Caldwell "Good." Said Sarah smiling proudly "Any abnormalities?" asked Dr Caldwell "No." said Sarah "Good. Well, I got your blood test back and it shows that you're a little bit dehydrated." Said Dr Caldwell "Okay." Said Sarah listening with a look of panic and fright as Matt leaned forward "There is no need to be alarmed. All you have to do is keep drinking liquids." Said Dr Caldwell "I have been craving ginger ale." Said Sarah "Good. Drink that and you should be fine." Said Dr Caldwell "Okay." Said Sarah nodding as the doctor wheeled herself over to a box of latex gloves "Put your feet in the stirrups please." Said Dr Caldwell putting the blue latex gloves on her busy hands "Okay." Said Sarah doing so "Relax." Said Dr Caldwell entering two fingers into her uterus. Sarah tensed up and looked over at Matt who was smiling and fighting the urge to walk over there and take her hand "Everything looks good." Said Dr Caldwell taking her latex gloves off and throwing them in the trash "Good." Said Sarah "Do you have any questions?" asked Dr Caldwell pulling a computer like machine over to the table "Can I come closer?" asked Matt "Sure." Said Dr Caldwell as she pressed the wand on Sarah's bulging belly "There it is." Said Dr Caldwell "Oh my God. Wow." Said Sarah as tears welled up in her brown eyes "Its very healthy. Do you want to know the sex?" asked Dr Caldwell "You can see the sex?" asked Matt with the look of interest on his face "Yes. Do you want to know the sex?" asked Dr Caldwell "No. I don't think we do." Said Sarah "Okay." Said Dr Caldwell glancing over at the mother to be and her bodyguard holding hands and looking loving into each other's eyes and Dr Caldwell clears her throat. "If you have any questions, just call. I want to see you in about four weeks." Said Dr Caldwell "Okay." Said Sarah "Bye." Said Dr Caldwell opening the door and walking out "Bye." Said Sarah "That was weird." Said Matt "Yeah. I don't know why she left like that." Said Sarah R&R |

Matt put on a name tag as he and Sarah stood in front of two tinted bulletproof doors. The bodyguard put his ten digit code and a loud buzzing sound caused the mother to be to jump. "Don't be scared. You're safe here." Said Matt opening the door for her "I trust you." Said Sarah walking in feeling Matt's hand on the small of her back "I'm going to put you in the Holding room where I do my business here." Said Matt "Okay." Said Sarah with the sound of hesitation in her voice "Don't worry. You're safe in there. No one can get in or out without a code." Said Matt "Okay." Said Sarah smiling slightly R&R |

Matt opened the door and walked in the 'lounge' where a fellow guard stood by the coffee maker "Hey Man. Didn't think I be seeing you around here much anymore." Said JD a blonde hair with a medium build turning around as he stirred his black coffee "Yeah." Said Matt walking over to the coffee pot and poured himself a cup "So, what are you doing here, Sawyer?" asked JD "Business." Said Matt "Word around here is the guy in your girl's case aint going to be found." Said JD "I'm hoping he will." Said Matt sipping the steaming hot and black coffee "So, where's your girl at?" asked JD "She's safe and protected. Sorry I cant stay and chat. I got to go." Chapter 41
Matt shoved the door opened, causing it to bang against the wall as he stomped into his boss's office. "What the fuck is this I hear about my case being closed when that son of a bitch, mother fucker, bastard is still running around instead of being butt raped in jail by his boyfriend named Bubba." Said Matt enraged "Sawyer!" barked Charlie standing up from his desk "What?" asked Matt "First of all, you don't come in here and yell at me. I'm your boss. Second of all, you need to calm down or I will take your gun and your badge away from you." Said Charlie "Fine. Do it. I got plenty of other guns with me." said Matt taking the gun out of the back of his jeans and slamming it down on the desk. "I cant believe it." Said Charlie coming around the front of the desk, sitting on the edge and crossing his arms over his chest "I hired you on this case, cause you're the best at what you do. I didn't hire you to fall in love with the girl." Said Charlie "I'm not." Said Matt "Yes you are. It's the look in your eyes and on your face." Said Charlie "Charlie." Said Matt "Sawyer, don't interrupt me. You're falling for the girl. This case and her are playing with your emotions. You need to stop." Said Charlie "Okay." Said Matt "Now you see why I tell my guys not to fall for the victim It plays with the emotions." Said Charlie "People cant help who they fall in love with. I cant just turn off my heart." Said Matt "You better start and start now." Said Charlie "Okay." Said Matt "You have been like this since Cassidy." Said Charlie "Yeah I know. I'll try not to let my emotions mix up." Said Matt "Good. Where is she?" asked Charlie "In the holding room." Said Matt "Okay." Said Charlie "So, how is the case going?" asked Matt "I can assure you that its not closed." Said Charlie walking around his desk and sitting down "And the search?" asked Matt "The search is still on, but there are no leads. This guy knows what he is doing. He's a smart one. He's either not going out in public or he is using cash and not credit. I wish I had more to tell you." Said Charlie "I know." Said Matt "Is there anything you two need?" asked Charlie "Um, Sarah wants some gingerale and she is having trouble sleeping, and she has already been using my pillows, so can we have some more?" asked Matt "Sure. You really have fallen in love with Sarah?" asked Matt "Yeah. I would do anything for her." Said Matt "Good. Just remember what I said." Said Charlie "I will." Said Matt grabbing his gun off the desk and walking out putting the gun in the back of his jeans. R&R |

Sarah jumped at the sound of a door opening as she sat alone in the holding room while Matt did his business. "Hey." Said Sarah softly as she saw her dirty blonde hair, blue eyes bodyguard walking in the room. "Hey. Are you ready to go?" asked Matt crossing the room and over to the table where the glowing mother to be sat at "Yeah I have spent so much time in this room. Its starting to get creepy. Chapter 43
Matt smiled and brushed his rough thumb over Sarah's small hand as he drove down the driveway toward the cabin. Putting the black Ford Explorer in park, Matt turned off the engine and leaned over to kiss Sarah softly on the lips. Sarah smiled as she watched him get out and crossed the front of the truck in quick long strides. Opening the door, Matt smiled and gently taking her hand and helping her out of the car. "Its safe." Said Matt "It always is with you." Said Sarah grabbing her purse. The bodyguard and the protectee smiled liked two love sick kittens and held hands as they proceeded to climb the stairs to the cabin. "What is that?" asked Sarah referring to boxes and bags sitting on the porch "Our stuff I asked for." Said Matt "Pillows and ginger ale?" asked Sarah "Yeah. Well, you said you wanted that to drink. I thought you would want pillows now since you're having trouble sleeping." Said Matt "That's sweet of you. Thank you." Said Sarah grabbing the bags of pillows "You're welcome." Said Matt picking up the box "I'm surprised it came that fast." Said Sarah unlocking the door "When you say you want something, they usually give it to you quickly." Said Matt as they walked into the cabin "Yeah." Said Sarah putting the bags down on the couch as Matt puts the box on the counter in the kitchen "So, how are you feeling?" asked Matt "Tired, but good." Said Sarah "Well, why don't you lie down and rest?" asked Matt "I will. I'm going to get a drink and my pregnancy book then lay down on the couch." Said Sarah "Okay. I'll let you rest, but if you need or want anything, just ask." Said Matt "I will. What are you going to be doing?" asked Sarah trying to reach the glasses "Here." Said Matt grabbing the glass for her. "Thank you. My stomach is now getting in the way from doing ordinary things." Said Sarah "Yeah. I'm going to grab a beer and go into the weight room and lift weights." Said Matt grabbing a beer out of the refrigerator door and grabbing some ice for Sarah's drink. "Okay. Thank you." Said Sarah "Remember what the doc said, drink from getting dehydrated." Said Matt "I will." Said Sarah pouring herself some ginger ale and taking a sip as she makes a horrible face "What's wrong?" asked Matt "It taste funny." Said Sarah "Like what?" asked Matt "I don't know." Said Sarah "Maybe it has to be refrigerated first." Said Matt "Yeah, plus I haven't drink this stuff in a while, and that book said something about things has different taste now that I'm pregnant." Said Sarah "That could be it." Said Matt as Sarah nodded "I'm going to go lie down and rest." Said Sarah swirling the ice in her glass and taking a sip "Okay." Said Matt kissing her lips "Ginger ale does taste funny." Said Matt "Yeah. It should taste better as the ice melts." Said Sarah "Yeah." Said Matt smiling as he walked out of the room R&R |
