An half hour later Dr Martin sat behind his desk. "Come in." said Dr Martin as someone knocked on his door "Here is Allison Carpenter's blood test results." Said Lisa his nurse "Thanks Lisa." In the Recovery Room Allison stroked a pale looking Nick's hair. "Why is he so pale? The nurse said that he was doing well." Said Allison "Baby, he just had surgery." Said Fox "I know, but he looks so weak." Said Allison "He is going to be fine." Said Fox starting to massage her shoulders as Dr Martin came in holding a chart "His vitals are looking good. Chapter 28
Fox and Allison sat next to each other in the Recovery Room Waiting Room clutching each other's hands as Dr Martin sat down in front of them. "When I first got these results and looked at them, I was shocked. This is the miracle that we have been looking for." Said Dr Martin "Am I a match?" asked Allison "Unfortunly not, but this is even better." Said Dr Martin "What is it?" asked Fox "The blood test shows that you are pregnant." Said Dr Martin "What?" asked Allison "Oh my God." Said Fox "This test don't lie and I could redo them myself, but I really think you should make an appointment with your gynecologist." Said Dr Martin "I will. Thank you." Said Allison "I'll leave you to ponder this and I'll go ahead and cancel the procedure." Said Dr Martin getting up "Okay. Thank you." Said Fox "If you need me, just call my office." Said Dr Martin "We will. Thank you." Said Fox "Oh my God." Said Allison "Allie, are you okay?" asked Fox "Yeah. I'm just shocked." Said Allison "Me too. I mean, tomorrow, we were going to get pregnant, cause we needed a child and that was the lowest reason to have a child." Said Fox "Yeah." Said Allison "But now, we got pregnant out of love. It does seem like everything is going our way." Said Fox "Yeah." Said Allison "If everything goes all right, why don't we get Lindsey or Angel to stay with him and we will go out to dinner and celebrate." Said Fox "I would like that." Said Allison "Good." Chapter 29
A half hour later, Fox and Allison were sitting beside Nick's bed in a regular room. "I'm tired, Mommy." Said Nick "I know, Baby. You can go to sleep if you want." Said Allison "No." said Nick "Did you see all the balloons that Aunt Angel sent you?" asked Fox "Why?" asked Nick "Because you are one special boy, Baby." Said Allison "Yeah." Said Nick sighing "You okay, Buddy?" asked Fox "Yeah Daddy." Said Nick "Do you want to watch cartoons or have Daddy or I read you a book?" asked Allison "No." said Nick "Go to sleep, Baby." Said Allison looking at Fox "Okay." Said Nick weakly "He's going to be fine, Baby." Said Fox "I know." Said Allison "Keep in mind, he is still recovering from surgery." Said Fox "I keep trying too." Said Allison as someone knocked on the door "Come in." said Fox "Hey." Said Lindsey walking in "Hey. How's Travis?" asked Allison "Good. No complications." Said Lindsey "That's great." Said Fox "Yeah. How is Nick doing?" asked Lindsey "Good. He is still so very weak from the surgery." Said Allison "Well, that is to be expected." Said Lindsey "I know, but I just want my little boy back." Said Allison "Oh Baby. We all want that. I want that too, but his little body has to get healed first. Travis's bone marrow is doing its job and its going to take time." Said Fox coming around the bed and rubbing her shoulders. "I know, but we got a long road ahead of us and I honestly don't know if I can take anymore." Said Allison "Yes you can. You have to stay strong for him." Said Fox "I'm trying." Said Allison "All parents have to stay strong for their children. I know you want to cry for him, but you cant." Said Lindsey "I know." Said Allison "What time should I be here tomorrow?" asked Lindsey "Oh. Um, the procedure was cancelled." Said Allison "Why?" asked Lindsey "We're already pregnant." Said Fox "What?" asked Lindsey "We just found out what ago from the blood test I had to take. I'm only a few days along." Said Allison "We have a doctor's appointment in the morning." Said Fox "Do you need someone to watch Nick?" asked Lindsey "We were going to ask Angel since you have to stay since you have to stay with Travis." Said Allison "Its no problem. I could stay with him." Said Lindsey "Well, we might take you on that if Nick is doing well tonight. I'm going to take her out to dinner." Said Fox "Okay. Good. Later that night Dressed in a suit and tie and a flowering skirt and a white blouse to match Fox and Allison stood in Nick's hospital room beside his bed "Now you be a good boy and listen to Aunt Lindsey and Aunt Angel, okay?" asked Allison "Okay Mommy." Said Nick "Be good, Champ. I love you." Said Fox "I love you too, Daddy." Said Nick "And I love you Leo." Said Fox kissing the stuffed dog "Leo loves you too, Daddy, but not as much as I do." Said Nick "Yeah. Well, how much do you love me?" asked Fox "This much." Said Nick holding out his arms. "Yeah. I love you. This much too." Said Fox holding out his arms even wider "He's doing much better then he was." Said Lindsey "Yes he is." Said Allison "We have our cells on, so call us if anything occurs." At the restaurant Fox and Allison sat across from each other at a table overlooking a lake. "I cant believe you took me here." Said Allison "Why wouldn't I? This is the place I took you on our first date." Said Fox "I know." Said Allison "He is going to be fine. I promise you." Said Fox "How did you know I was thinking about Nick?" asked Allison "Cause you're chewing on your bottom lip when you are thinking." Said Fox "You know me all to well." Said Allison "Yeah I do." Said Fox "I'm not just thinking about Nicky." Said Allison "Oh. You're not?" asked Fox "No." said Allison "What else?" asked Fox "The baby." Said Allison "What about him or her?" asked Fox "I'm afraid I'm going to miscarry." Said Allison "Hey. We're not going to think that. When we go see Dr Roberts and learns everything that there is to learn about prevent a miscarriage, we are going to do it and more." Said Fox taking her hand "But what about all the stress that goes along with Nicky and his chemo?" asked Allison "We are going to handle it. I promise you. I will take all the stress away." Said Fox "Yeah." Said Allison as he got up from the table "What are you doing? Where are you going?" asked Allison as he stood beside her at the table "Something I should have done a long time ago." Said Fox pulling out a small, black velvet box out of his pocket "Oh." Said Allison as got down on one knee "Allison Elizabeth Carpenter, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" asked Fox "Yes." Said Allison as he slipped the diamond ring on her finger "I love you so much." Said Fox kissing her "I love you." Said Allison as everyone in the restaurant started clapping. "Oh my God." Said Andrea yelling over the sound of clapping "Oh my God. It cant be. Not now." Said Fox "Please. Fox, please don't do anything." Said Allison "I'll try not too." Said Fox getting up "Oh my God. You didn't just propose to her, did you?" asked Andrea walking over to them with Vince in tow "Andrea, go on back to the whore house where you belong." Said Fox "Why did you just propose to her, Son?" asked Vince "Cause I love her." Said Fox "Oh my god. Who loves who these days." Said Andrea "Well, apparently all you love is my father's money and dick." Said Fox as Andrea slapped him right across the face causing her long painted nails to cut his cheek. "And you think you could threatened me like you did." Said Andrea "Andrea, I would watch it if I was you. You haven't see what I could do to you yet. Come on Baby. Lets go back to our son." Said Fox reaching for his hand "We didn't even pay yet." Said Allison getting up "They will bill the Coles and I'll handle it tomorrow." Said Fox "Just watch it Son, and I'll cut all ties off from you being a Coles." Said Vince "You wouldn't dare do that Father. I'm your first born son. Fox lead Allison to their car, opened the door, helped her in, and went around the car and got in. "Sorry about that. I tried not to take things to far." Said Fox "Its okay." Said Allison "But." Chapter 33
The next day Allison sat nervously clutching Fox's hand "Its going to be alight, Baby." Said Fox "I had a dream last night that I wasn't pregnant." Said Allison "This isn't a dream. I promise. We both know and Dr Martin knows that we are pregnant. Everything will be okay." Said Fox "Why do you always reassure me that everything will be okay?" asked Allison "Because I know it will be." Said Fox "Allison Carpenter?" asked a nurse "That's us." Said Allison getting up "Hi Allison. Come with me and we'll get you weighed in." said the nurse "Okay." Said Allison A few minutes later, Allison was sitting on a table wearing a gown and Fox was looking at a chart shows how big a pregnant woman should be. "They don't even have the size of the baby now." said Fox "That's because I'm only a few days along." said Allison "Oh." said Fox as the door opened up and Dr Roberts walked in "Hey Allison." said Dr Roberts "Hey." said Allison "This must be Fox." said Dr Roberts "Yes." said Fox "Nice to meet you." said Dr Roberts "You too." said Fox "Well, you are indeed pregnant." said Dr Roberts "Great." said Allison "Your weight is good, but your blood pressure is up some. That is okay for now. With Nick's illness, that is understandable. I want to examine you before we go to the next step. Will you please put your feet in the stirrups." said Dr Roberts putting on a glove "All right." said Allison doing so as Fox grabbed her hand "Everything is looking good." said Dr Roberts a few minutes later "Good." said Fox "You can sit up now for a few minutes. We have to talk." said Dr Roberts "Okay." said Allison doing so "I talked with Dr Martin this morning and we both agree that this pregnancy is a miracle and our goal is thirty six weeks give or take considering how Nick is by that time. We know that with Nick's illness, it is very stressful for you. This pregnancy is going to be high risk no matter what. Usually its takes just a few weeks to get through the third month, but its going to be a challenge to get you past there." said Dr Roberts "Could I miscarry?" asked Allison "Yes you very well could, but we wont allow it." said Dr Roberts "What are some things we could do to prevent stress?" asked Fox "Well, usually I would say stay away from it, but you cant. So just relax and if it gets really stressful, walk away, have a good cry, let Fox here talk in all the stress. If you feel pain or see blood, call me immediately. Day or night." said Dr Roberts "We will." said Fox "Okay. Lay back and I'll do a sonogram." said Dr Roberts "Okay." said Allison doing so "Lets see how this baby is doing." said Dr Roberts "Yeah. Will this hurt the baby?" asked Fox "No. This is going to be a little cold." said Dr Roberts squirting gel on Allison's flat stomach "It is." said Allison as Fox took her hand again "Okay. Baby, where are you?" asked Dr Roberts as she looking at the computer screen "There it is." said Dr Roberts pointing to the black and white image on the computer screen "Wow." said Allison "I helped make that." said Fox "Yeah. How about this?" asked Dr Roberts as she keyed something on the keyboard and a thump, thump, thump sound filled the room "Is that...?" asked Allison "The heartbeat?" asked Fox "Yes it is." said Dr Roberts "Its fast. Why is it so fast?" asked Fox "That's normal. Its one hundred and forty four beats per minute." said Dr Roberts "Is it healthy?" asked Fox "Yes. Both mother and child are healthy." said Dr Roberts "Thank you God." said Allison "I do want to see you in three weeks." said Dr Roberts whipping off Allison's stomach "Okay." said Allison "Here's a prescription for prenatal vitiams." said Dr Roberts "Thank you." said Allison "You can get dressed now." said Dr Roberts "Thanks for everything." said Allison "Its my pleasure." said Dr Roberts walking out R&R |

Fox and Allison walked to the car "Do you think we can go by the house before we go back to the hospital?" asked Allison "Why?" asked Fox "Because I want to get married today." said Allison "What?" asked Fox "I want to get married, Fox. Today. Before Nicky gets sick. I want him there to witness us exchange vowels. I think today is as good of time as any cause he had radiadation this morning." said Allison "What about a tux and a dress?" asked Fox "The clothes that we wore last night are fine. We didn't get them dirty and we didn't wear them long." said Allison "What about bridesmaids and best men?" asked Fox "Well, Travis and Lindsey are there. Angel too and Mother is there. We can use them as witnesses. Please Fox, I have to get married when Nick is well enough to witness it." said Allison "Okay. I'll call Father Jensen and see if he can meet us there." said Fox getting out his cell. "Oh. Thank you Fox. I love you." said Allison "Anything for you my Darling." said Fox hugging her R&R |

Fox stood at the left of the hospital bed and held hands with Allison, as she stood on the right side of the hospital bed. Standing over their son, Nick put his hands over Fox and Allison's. "We're ready, Father." Said Fox "Dearly beloved, we are gather here today to witness in union of Nicholas Foxworthy and Allison Elizabeth . Who gives this woman in holy matrimony?" asked Father Jensen "Buddy?" asked Fox whispering to Nick "What?" asked Nick "That's your cue. Say your line." Said Fox "Oh. One week later Fox was in their bedroom of their apartment, undressing from work as the doorbell rings. Zipping up his jeans, he walked to the door. "Hey Fox." said Heidi as he opened the door "What do you want?" asked Fox "Now what kind of greeting is that? Haven't you missed me?" asked Heidi putting her arms around his neck and kissing him "Stop it, Heidi." said Fox pulling her arms away from him "Stop what? I love you." said Heidi "No. You never loved me. You loved my money. That's why you wanted me in the first place, so I can make you go from a poor single mother who lives in a very crappy apartment and that works at the landfill to a rich woman who wouldn't ever work." said Fox "I did love you." said Heidi "Probably when Allie came back you did." said Fox "I need to talk to you, Fox. It is very important." said Heidi "I don't have time to talk. I wasted enough time already. I got to go to the hospital to see my wife and son." said Fox "But this is very important, Fox?" asked Heidi "What is it, Heidi?" asked Fox "I'm pregnant." said Heidi "Ha! Four weeks later, Fox was working at the computer in his office. Yawning and rubbing his scruffy beard, he sat back to read over what he typed. "Mr. Coles, your wife is on the phone." Said Janet, his receptionist. "Hey Baby." Said Fox picking up the phone "Hey. What are you doing?" asked Allison "Working on pie charts so I can meet with Father later." Said Fox "Oh. When is that?" asked Allison "In a couple of hours. Why? What's wrong?" asked Fox "Its Nick." Said Allison "What about him? Is he okay?" asked Fox "He is refusing chemo without you here." Said Allison "What?" asked Fox "He keeps pushing the nurses' hands away from his port in his shoulder. I called Dr Martin to see if we could skip it one time, but he said we couldn't. Not once."
