The hypocrisy of the media and Obama supporters (is there a difference?) about how mean and angry McCain/Palin supporters have been is overwhelming. Truly a case of seeing the mote in your opponents eye while ignoring the beam in your eye.
For example, from the Philadelphia Inquirer:
Police said about 400 protesters lined the streets outside the hotel, the same number that organizers expected at the fund-raiser, chanting to each other and to passing motorists.
...Outside on Broad Street, waiting for Palin to leave, one man was heard saying: "Let's stone her, old school."
Imagine the reaction from the media and the Obama campaign if a crowd of 400 angry McCain/Palin supporters had gathered outside of Obama's hotel and one of them had screamed for him to be lynched. From women being stoned is the equivalent of a black man being lynched.
Another example would be if a McCain/Palin supporter had commissioned a movie where Obama was portrayed as a sexual predator. One of the worst racist stereotypes. We have an Obama supporter, Larry Flynt, making a porn film about Sarah Palin which certainly plays into the worst sexist stereotypes. The reporting on the Palin porn film raises chuckles from Obama supporters. Imagine their reaction if the Obama as sexual predator film was being made.
It seems as if any harsh criticism of Obama leads to cries of racism. Back in the primaries we saw it when Bill and Hillary Clinton were accused of racism whenever they tried to hammer Obama. If Obama supporters live in such a delusional world where Bill Clinton is a racist what are we going to see over the next four years. Every time anyone utters a harsh word about Obama are they going to be shouted down with cries that they are mean racists.
The stench of hypocrisy is strong indeed.
