Some of you would shit if you knew how much we spent on our bunny about four years ago. Lisa, you would die for your cat not because it's a cat or it's
bigger or greater than a guinea pig but because that's how much it means to you. Her pig just means that much to her. There is absolutely NO difference.
And I haven't had much interaction with guinea pigs but I imagine, being rodents, they're not terribly different from rabbits. Oscar has oodles of personality and attitude. And they often won't show pain because they are prey and their instincts tell them to hide it if they're weak. But they CAN. Earlier this year Oscar had a hairball and a bladder infection. There was one point I thought he was having a seizure because he stiffened up in a funny position for a couple minutes and his face was sort of contorted. When we got him to the vet we found out that it wasn't likely he was having a seizure. It's something they do when they're in a lot of pain. |
