I know it's not my fault. I just wish she'd stayed on my porch even just a few minutes longer, then maybe she'd have missed whatever hit her and
she could possibly come back to me if she still didn't have a home to go to.
I'm not giving up on having a little Ethel/Ricky though. I'd love to have a cat who's the opposite of Lucy in a lot of ways. I mean I love Lucy to pieces because of what she is, but it'd be nice to also have a cat who's more affectionate and loving and practically begs for me to pet him/her lots. 
I'm just trying to be happy that I was chosen to be the one who made her happy during her last hours on Earth. Instead of dying being hungry, lonesome, and unloved, she died full, happy, and loved, and knew she had a safe haven with me. But it still hurts. |
