That was amazing. I'm happy Nastia and Shawn went 1 and 2. I actually think the Chinese girl is of age. The only one I thought who was underaged was the
girl with the missing tooth, and she didn't compete so it's all good.
Love Nastia. She's very graceful and elegant. Shawn can win it next Olympics, she'll only be 20.

I'm from Des Moines, IA where Shawn Johnson is from, I know her parents traveled to China a few days after she arrived but I haven't seen them yet
at the competitions, I really hope she brings home a gold medal, she deserves it!! You can only imagine the huge star she's become in our small
town.. |

Congrats to Nastia and Shawn! 1-2 ladies!!!
I didn't have a problem with Shawn's scores. She had that awkward landing on vault and on uneven bars she missed a couple of handstands. What I do have a problem with is that Yang Yilin missed several handstands as well and beam was a joke. She missed elements and deductions weren't taken. But all's well that ends well I suppose. |

Her landing on vault is awkward because it keeps her from falling because her vault is the most difficult in the competition. If she had not done what she did,
she would have fallen on her ass like the Chinese gymnast who was the only other one doing that same vault. Shawn did pretty good on bars which is by far her
weakest event.

I believe they start today. They have them spread out over the next three days...I don't remember which event is today. It's vault and I don't know
what else, I think beam.

They both look kinda mean but in interviews they look so sweet and friendly.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. Shawn can compete at the next one. That's the main reason I was wanting Nastia to win gold. |
