I've seriously been lurking in here. I just finished all the books a couple days ago and yeah it's weird how people try to make convo with you when
they see you have the books. At my new job I had BD with me a couple days to read during break and some of my co-workers saw the books and immediately was all
"Gasp! OMG is that one of the twilight books..." and then was ready to break out into a discussion on it and what part I was on.

Annie, apparently, I have beer flavored nipples tonight. Every guy I have on MSN is trying to chat with me. One of them, I stopped talking to though, when he
accidentally called me by my ex's name (Jake... Jackie, easy mistake).

I want to punch my friend. He thinks that Obama is going lose all of his male college age voters because Palin is "fucking hot."

I was out all day so I totally missed the updates in this thread, but I'd just like to say that anyone who found the book "abusive" or
"racist" need to get a life---or simmah the hell down. Bella is a woman character who should make all feminists angry, but that bitch was asking for
everything she got, and any improper description or stereotype used when it came to the Indians is only a reflection of how poorly Meyer researched for her
books. There's waaaaay more than just that that proved Meyer's ignorance and neglect when it came to the story-line and characters.
I swear people will always look for something to pick on. |

OMG Jackie!
Don't be afraid! Everybody says this, but we welcome everybody to the thread with open arms! So no toes are being stepped on whatsoever. |

When I first read Twilight I did think Edward was way over the top with his over protective-ness and let's face it, stalkerish behavior. But then after I read the next two books, I went back and re-read it. And I can sort of see where he is coming from. Firstly, he sees Bella as a very fragile human, which she is in the eyes of an almost indestructible vampire. Secondly, because Bella knows who they are, she is placed in a ton of dangerous situations, James, Victoria, the Volturi. I think Edward feels responsible for this and takes to caring for her in the extreme. Thirdly, I did find him creeping into her bedroom while she was asleep and she had no idea for the first few nights way creepy, but I realized he was so confused about his feelings for her and the long vacant human emotions she stirred up in him, that watching her sleep without her knowledge of him being there better allowed himself to come to terms that he was indeed feeling something for her. And fourthly, Edward's character is a mismash of all the fictional romance worlds greatest men in my mind, so his over the top affection and protective-ness of Bella is a big reason why so many readers fell in love with him. He is the ultimate romantic hero. He was written to make us swoon.

It's a message board that the majority of the people in this thread go to for all things Twilight. It's pretty sweet if I do say so myself.

I still hate the volvo that they chose... It is so not Edward! I really don't see him as a hatchback kind of a guy and seriously can you see Emmett
squeezing in to the back of a 2 door vehicle?........rant over
