We stayed with these people in Jersey City when my dad and I went to NYC. Talk about dismal. At least we didn't have to pay outrageous hotel prices though.

My boyfriend is from Jersey. I always jokingly call it the Garbage State.

I think The Garbage State is pretty appropriate.

My boyfriend wants to move there and I refuse to. Not only is there nothing to look at that is pretty but I would have to deal with high insurance, rent and an
abundance of guidos. No thanks.

Where are the factories? Whatever. My new friend says she doesn't mind living in Jersey City, since it is close to NYC. But she hates Philadelphia.

Of course you would think Jersey is filthy if you stayed in Jersey City, of all places. That is not a good area. Like everyone else has said, you should take a
look at Bergen County and areas in Northern and Central Jersey. There are some beautiful areas and some huge houses.

I also live in Bergen. I've been all over & I'm not really fond of it, but then again, I was born/raised in a city.

I live in the Oranges and I'll admit it's pretty shitty around where I live, but not all of Jersey is nasty.
