I quit Walmart after working there for 2 months. it was HORRIBLE!! The customers are so trashy and ghetto, they will belittle you like you won't believe, the managers were no help. I hated it.

one night i was about to go to lunch, so i turned off my light, a customer comes up and puts her shit on the counter thing, i told her my lane was closed, she started to argue with me that i needed to ring up her items because "customer's always right" blah blah blah, suddenly 3 other customers come up to my lane and start to make a line behind this bitch, i'm like "this lane is closed", they all start to gang up on me and calling me names and shit, i didn't know what to do, so i just rang the first lady up and told the other customers she was my last one, went to lunch and never went back.

those assholes made me cry ( not in front of them, but as i was walking towards my car) i was humiliated by some idiots. they made me feel like shit and it just wasn't worth it. left during lunch and never went back. it was my first job, now i know better, but i don't regret quitting. I just regret not standing up for myself earlier.

Girl you're a bigger person than me, and I'm usually pretty passive, but that lady would be waiting a long time for me to ring her shit up. I don't know why people decide to go to a store and get on their high horse. These are people who probably live in trailers, and work at the dollar store, but they need to feel better than others so at the end of the day they go and take it out on other retailers. It was the same way when I worked on mcdonalds people come in and throw a fit ofver a burger they paid 49 cents for, I'm like come on.

I honestly don't know how i did it. I was the youngest cashier there, so some of the customers would bully me. All the other cashiers were in their 40's+, they were pretty jaded and used to that type of environment, i was a naive 19 year old with no work experience. It was my first job, so i thought that sort of behavior was "normal." I was accused of being a racist, i was called racist names (only twice, but still very hurtful), i was made fun of, I was yelled at, etc.

I seriously took a major hit to my self-esteem. I worked in what was considered the "ghetto" walmart, so we constantly had drunk, high, insane customers. of course, most customers were nice, but having just a few bad apples thrown in there totally ruined my day. I since have had a few other jobs and it made me realize that being treated like that is NOT normal. i am so happy at the job i have now.

It also took walmart about a week and a half to notice that i hadn't been coming in to work.
