Hossa, you piece of crap
At least we resigned Malkin. Same exact deal as Crosby's. Not bad, but too bad they barely have any wingers to play with! |

Hossa? WTF? I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Don't worry the 5 1 will have its vengeance. They are currently in the process of reforming. Look, Fee is in Canada already beginning the process. Oh Fee. Such a cliche thing to say. But in all seriousness, I wish my favorite Russian all the success and luck in the world. I hope he tears it up in Columbus and all the Blue Jacket fans appreciate and enjoy him as much as I do. I'll be sure to keep an eye on him during this season. Center Ice is yet again a necessity in my household. If I have to go without life necessities like food for a week or two so be it. |

He's going to do awesome there. And as humourous as it might sound.. Hitch is building a fucking MONSTER out there. I think people are going to be shocked
with their development over the summer.. and even more so when they aren't bulldozing right over the BlueJackets next season.

I think a lot of us will be following Columbus next season for the first time. This is from the Columbus Dispatch's Blue Jackets blogger: Finally I asked him if he was tired or not very excited about the trade. "No, no, I'm very tired. My wife and I, we had our first baby at 1:30 a.m., so yes, very tired," he said. That's right, at 1:30 a.m. on July 1, Fedor Tyutin became a dad. Around 4:15 today, he was traded from New York to Columbus. Talk about a life turned upside down. "Different city is OK with me," Tyutin said. "New York gave me my chance, and I appreciate that. But Columbus will be good. I want to go there, get better in my own game and help the club get to the next level. Playoffs, right? "I hear it's a good place to raise a family. So, perfect timing, right?" |

OMG. Someone seriously put a dagger in my heart and is currently twisting it ever so slowly. This is NOT fair. I woke up today with the trade finally hitting me like a ton of bricks and now I venture in here and read that. A mini Fee has entered the world. I'm trying to think positively, so
maybe this trade happened for a reason. Tyutin is about to start the next phase of his life by starting a family, so maybe this move to Ohio will be a
blessing in disguise. Still doesn't make the pain go away...
Someone started a "thank you" Tyutin thread over on HFBoards, and I should have never entered there. Some of the things said about Tyutin really hit home and turned me into a complete mess. Hell, I can't even think of certain Ranger players without associating them with Tyutin and then thinking of how different it will be this upcoming season without him in the line-up with his teammates. And at this point, I don't really care what the hell Jagr does. That's how upset I am. Let Jagr explore the market. Whatever. At least he will leave by choice and I'd be more happy knowing that was his decision. |

Wow it's definitely been a week that's enough to get his head spin like Regans! Congrats to him and his wife on their new arrival!

It's been a very fulfilling and crazy year for him. He won the World Championship gold medal with Team Russia, became a husband and daddy, and got traded by his team. I wonder when he got hitched. He should have had a double wedding with Girardi. They could have had one last Defensive Partners Forever party. In other news, it looks like it's official. Marty Straka will play in his native Czech Republic next season. Good luck little Marty Straka! He always gave it his all, night in and night out. A total workhorse. I wish him nothing but the best. |

The Devils finally got their revenge on the Rangers....sign Gomez to so much money Sather has to dismantle the team. |

Aww a baby Tyutin! I'm so happy for them! Still really sad to see him go. He's been my favorite since before he got up to the Rangers. I just
saw Leetch in him for some reason, I don't know what it was. Definitely wasn't the offensive talent lol, but I don't know I just kind of saw
Leetch in him somehow. I'm so sad he's not a Ranger anymore. jdvpbliss wrote: I thought he's already been married for a few years now?

ALR83 wrote: Yeah, I would have liked that better as well. Unfortunately, Mara isn't ours to trade away. He's an unrestricted free agent. Right now, we only have 4 defensemen. Sather obviously has something up his sleeve. Unless they plan on bringing up some young guys. I just saw Leetch in him for some reason, I don't know what it was. Definitely wasn't the offensive talent lol, but I don't know I just kind of saw Leetch in him somehow. I'm so sad he's not a Ranger anymore. Perhaps it was the quiet demeanor that both players possess?
All I know is that I will miss #51. He's a silent killer. As a Ranger, he was always calm with the puck, never panicked, and played solid defense. And then out of nowhere, he would display one of his nasty hits, including the very delicious and crowd pleasing hip check. He was always composed, effective, and efficient with a nasty sneaky edge. It just sucks to see Tyutin, who I believe to be the cornerstone of the NYR youth movement, not be a part of the team any longer. He was the little bud that caused the youth movement to blossom. I thought he's already been married for a few years now?You may be right. I really don't know the marital status of most players. They could be married for 10 years and I wouldn't know. I'm just assuming he recently got married because I recall him mentioning during his segment on Inside the Rangers this year that his "girlfriend" makes him watch American Idol. So who knows lol. Here's a Fee gem from a Kasparaitis interview from a few years ago that I thought would be suitable to share in memory of Tyutin's time with the Rangers: After practice, Kasparaitis is one of the last players to come off the ice. Tyutin and Kondratiev, the Russian rookies, both 22, both over six feet tall, dark and broad-shouldered, are waiting for him. Tyutin has some news for Kasparaitis. "Yesterday I got my hair cut by one of those, what do you call it, a transvestite. No lie. A black one."Now, someone needs to hand over Kaspar's Olympic video or maybe I'll just have to be my pirate self and steal it from MSG. |

It's interesting reading the Stars forum and what the fans have to say about Avery. It's about 50/50 on like and dislike. What I found more interesting
is what our Captain, Brenden Morrow, had to say about him...
************************* I just got off the phone with Stars captain Brenden Morrow, and he admitted that on a couple of occasions he has said that he "hates'' Sean Avery. Most notably on his weekly radio show on The Ticket, Morrow has told how he does not like the antics of the Stars' newest free agent signing. "Yeah, I have said hate, and I imagine if we wouldn't have signed him, I would have said I still hate him,'' Morrow said. "But he's a teammate now, and I'll admit that I don't really know him other than what I see on the ice, so now we need to get to know each other and work together as teammates.'' Morrow said it will be part of his job to help Avery understand what the dynamic of the Stars' team is. "I don't think it's just me, it's our leadership group, but there are things here that we will talk about,'' Morrow said. "We feel we have something special going on here and we feel we are a good team. And I have no problem with what he does as a player or how he works hard or gets people upset. But some of the stuff that makes the individual more important than the team, that's not something we want to see here.'' Morrow said he has not talked to management about Avery and has not talked to Avery himself. Stars winger Steve Ott also said he is fine with Avery coming to the Stars. He said the emphasis again is on the team first. "We have a good room, and I think he can add to that,'' Ott said. "I think it's just like any player who is a free agent or is traded, it will take him some time to adjust. But as far as a player goes, I don't have any problem with him at all.'' Avery said on Wednesday that he likes to "manipulate the line'' between good and bad and said he feels he has matured and grown a lot in understanding just how far he can push things. He said he does not want to do anything to hurt the team. That said, he also admits he is a sore loser and that is what pushes him to actions that may have upset some of the traditionalists. "I don't like to lose, and maybe at times I'll push that envelope to do anything to win, and maybe that's not always proper for the hockey gods or the traditionalists,'' Avery said. "But I like to play hard, and I don't think that's going to change. That's what makes me, me.'' The fact that his new captain is indeed a traditionalist, however, could mean that there will be some changes in just how far he can push things. ************************ I'm just hoping he fits in with the team. I'm willing to give him a chance and see how he does on the ice. Apparently, Avery was team mates with Brett Hull, and that was one reason he came to Dallas. Maybe Hull will have some influence on him. |

Avery was a teammate of Hull when he was on the Red Wings.
Hull had really high praise of Avery back when the Wings were on that show ESPN's The Season, part 2 of the Wings show focused on the trade deadline and Avery because he was traded to Los Angeles. I just remember Kenny Holland and Scotty Bowman not wanting to trade Avery and saying, "there aren't a lot of guys like Avery..." which is kind of funny, not that many people can reach that type of jack ass. |

And I don't think this was posted:
Unrestricted free agent Marian Hossa seemingly bought into that philosophy on Wednesday when he signed a one-year contract, thus securing the Red Wings' chances of repeating as Stanley Cup champions next spring. "Obviously, we're thrilled," Holland told DetroitRedWings.com. "He's a premiere power forward. Heading into the off-season, he was on our wish list, but to think in reality that we would get a shot at him given our commitments heading into the '08-09 season -- we really wanted to keep a lot of our team together -- but in the end Marian made it happen by agreeing to come on a one-year deal." Hossa, 29, helped the Pittsburgh Penguins reach the 2008 Stanley Cup finals, where they eventually lost to the Red Wings in six games. He had three goals and four assists in the Cup finals. It's believed that the Edmonton Oilers were also suitors in the Hossa sweepstakes, with a reported offer of as much as $9 million for the Czechoslovakian star. He indicated that he did not have discussions with the Pens about a one-year deal. Still the decision to turndown a bigger pay day elsewhere was difficult, Hossa said, but after 10 seasons in the league, his priorities have changed. "I wanted the best chance to win the Stanley Cup and I feel like Detroit is the team," Hossa said during a teleconference Wednesday afternoon. "I know I could get more money somewhere else, but the thing that I was looking for for myself was to win the Stanley Cup. "It wasn't easy to throw that much money away, but I know I made the right decision. I truly believe that I made the right decision."

The Habs have signed their enforcer, Big Georges... three years I think at $1.5M.
This will be fun. |

Antti Miettinen to the Wild (3 years, $7 million)
Markus Naslund to the Rangers (1 year, $4.5 million) |

Wow Naslund. I'm cool with that. Sadly I think it means Jagr is gone. And I'm sad.
I AM NOT LIKING THIS OFF SEASON. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO ENJOY REDDEN BECOMING A RANGER AND I CANNOT. jdvpbliss wrote: Oooh, why did I think they had signed him? Oh well.
jdvpbliss wrote:
I will miss that hip check for sure. Kaspar taught him well. He reaches back and pulls down the little monitor in the ceiling between the back and front seats. "Okay, ducklings," he tells Kondratiev and Tyutin, "we're going to interview up here. You watch a movie. Take whatever you want. Here, Bad News Bears, you'll like that."LMFAO. I miss him so much. |

Yep. Jagr is a goner. From Sam Weinman's blog: So there you have it. This team is going to be strangely unfamiliar come opening night. I wonder who will be the next captain. I'm hoping so bad that once his contract is up he'll come back to the Rangers. I want that so much.I'd LOVE that. And I'm holding out on all hope that day does indeed come. I just don't see it happening. More times than not, once a player departs from a team, they don't come back. Of course there are many exceptions. |

It really does suck to see him go when he really was, like you said, the start of
the "new" Rangers. You grow attached to those ones because it's what you hope for in the future. It was the same way with Jed. He came in and
worked harder than anyone at that time and we were all drawn to it for that reason.
