I knew Detroit was out of the Rolston race when so many teams were in the running. They didn't have his kind of money to spend. It's a bummer, he lives right near where the Wings have their training camp in MI. Would have been an easy commute!

Any ideas where Avery might end up?

^ Detroit is probably the only place I'd like to see Sundin (I think most Toronto fans would eat him alive if he came back... plus, we
should be rebuiding, and that isn't the way to do it)
Mark Streit gets a huge raise from the Islanders - 5 years, $20.5 million (almost 7 times his 2007-8 salary of $600K) |

Dolly, the Flyers traded Denis Gauthier to LA. I'm glad for him cause he really does deserve to be in the NHL. Yay! I can cheer for the Kings too! And my comments on the Devils: Yay for Pando, Clarkson Eh for Tallackson Thank you for Brylin Yay for Rolston WTF at Unibrow Thanks again Monique

Well, I finally got what I wanted. Redden is a Ranger. But after hearing what I've heard about him here I'm not as excited as I would have been. But
I'll give him a chance obviously. I still like him.
Now I have two of my favorite d-men on my team. AND THE MOST FAVORITE OF THEM BETTER STAY A RANGER. |

The outrageousness of most of these contracts... oy
Last I heard about Avery he was talking with Dallas. |

You're welcome, Dolly! Yeah, most of the players signed today do not warrant the amount they were signed for. It's insane. And because this needs to be shared, here's a funny made by a NYR blog writer concerning Tampa's signing spree: The Lightning have now also signed Adam Hall, and may be moving in on Olaf Kolzig. I love the Lightning's new owners. It's like they're all playing Sega hockey, only with real people. |

Plus, we finally got a guy who can QB the PP. So who the hell knows what will happen. And I second the favorite d-man staying as a Ranger. I don't like these trade bait rumors floating around. I don't see them signing Jagr, sadly. I'll be devistated. And to make matters worse, if he stays in the NHL, he's rumored to sign with the Penguins.

Like shit, $4M for lost mojo, one dimensional Ryder who was constantly scratched last season. It's ridiculous... though I laughed heartily at that one at
the B's expense.

Tampa re-signs RFA Ryan Craig.
As per TSN's tracker. |

Another Pen to the Wings?
This Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer thinks so: The Penguins have lost free-agent right winger Marian Hossa to Detroit. http://post-gazette.com/pg/08184/894245-61.stm
edit: Confirmed by TSN!!! 1 year, $7.4 million

I would have expected a team to try and lock him up for longer than 1 year. But on the bright side at least we're not going to be playing him 8 [6?] times
this upcoming season.

Avery is gone! Avery is gone! Avery is gone! And his skanky ass is back in the Western Conference! I'm probably the only Ranger fan who is
thrilled about this lol. He's more trouble than he's worth. I don't understand why Dallas would sign him though. Don't they already have an
agitator/pest in Ott?
And what the hell, Detroit? Did they really need Hossa? |
